Putrajaya: Man-Made Landscape
2008-01-23 14:48:00 Independance Day CelebrationPhoto was taken by my friend Ashwin when we went to celebrate the 48th year of independence. The administration centre of Malaysia, much like Washington, is located in Putrajaya. One of the most beautiful and modernized places here; that you won’t even realized that you are actually in Malaysia. Some even claimed that it is among the early intelligent cities in the world. It is also famous for its wetland concepts, making it environment-friendly as well. One of the few beautiful buildings that you can see here is the Palace of Justice, something that looks like Taj Mahal, only smaller. And a few other conceptual buildings like the Perbadanan Government Complex and the Putra Mosque. My brother in front of the Putra MosqueThe Putra Mosque has its own unique feature as well. A bazaar is located just below it, residing next to the lake. And you should visit Putrajaya’s botanical gardens as well, where they have different types of floras and beautiful monum...

Alternatively, you can take the KLIA Transit from the airport to Putrajaya station and transfer to a taxi. Putrajaya
2007-11-04 23:09:00 Putrajaya, a planned city located just south of Kuala Lumpur, is the new federal administrative centre of Malaysia. Several Government offices have re-located there to gain relief from the overcrowding and congestion of Kuala Lumpur which is Malaysia's largest city. However, Kuala Lumpur still serves as Malaysia's national and legislative capital for now. Putrajaya is a Federal Territory just like the city of Kuala Lumpur and the island of Labuan. The city is named after the first Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra. In Bahasa Melayu, the Sanskrit-derived words "Putra" means prince while "Jaya" means excellent or success. The city has only been established recently and it is still undergoing massive development: its development was hampered by the 1997 Asian financial crisis. The city is built on a scale completely disproportionate to its current population, with a number of bridges spanning an artificial lake, Putrajaya Lake.Although Malaysia is multi-ethnic with Mala...

2007-10-17 13:57:00 Great! Just great!A few days ago our Information Minister Dato? Seri Zainuddin Maidin gave us the indication that our Malaysian press may have been given explicit instruction to concoct perpetrated news that could win the hearts of the Malaysian public. 2007-05-22 22:59:00 Putrajaya is the location for Malaysia’s central government. It is arguably the pride of Malaysia’s impressive structure as its buildings act as proof to this very statement. Furthermore, all the buildings are inspired by a hybrid of influences, from Middle Eastern architecture to a blend of local designs. However, no matter where the building’s design inspirations are derived from, visitors from
