Chapter 9 - Q and A
2007-11-17 06:01:00 THE PAST Christmas break had come and gone and I was back in school, not interested in any of my classes; school wasn?t where I wanted to be. I went, but only put in a minimal effort. It was the winter semester and there was a lot of snow on the ground, my room was unusually ...

2007-11-16 06:03:00 During the next class we talked about existentialism again and I gained further respect. When class was over I went to the front to ask the professor my question, he quickly and without much consideration said, “Yes, existentialists believe that depression and mental disease are a choice.” En guard, the answer I suspected. This created an ...

2007-11-15 06:02:00 The professor is covering existentialism, this is what I have been waiting for; it?s what the professor is most interested in too. He believes it, in fact he?s written the book for this section. I?d heard about existentialism before and been quite interested. I only know some basics, not enough to realize how much this ...

2007-11-14 06:01:00 There are various thoughts as to the cause of procrastination; some say it’s laziness, or a lack of drive, others say it?s because of perfectionism, and still others says it?s a naturally imperfection of the human condition. None of these were the cause of my procrastination; mine was caused by fear, a fear of not ...
Q and A Regarding "Intent" and the IRS
2007-06-25 21:59:00 When it comes to taxes, the IRS does often look at ?intent? to determine whether certain things qualify for certain tax rules.Such as, when you purchase a property, do you intend to hold it for investment purposes or is your intent to fix it up and sell it right away?I got a question today from a military individual stating he had purchased a property that was ?going to be? his primary residence, but he had never lived there and had rented it out since purchase. He had been renting in another state for the last few years. Now he wants to sell and wanted to know if he can qualify for the personal residence exemption.Unfortunately, he can?t. To satisfy the test for exemption you have to both own and reside in a primary residence for at least 2 of the last 5 years. Intent to live there does not come into play unless you actually do.And, no, it also doesn?t matter if he sells the ?intended? house and buys a new primary residence and lives there immediately. He still doesn?t qualify for t...
Permanent Occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan? Stupid!
2007-06-23 15:27:00 Periodically General David Petraeus, our surge general, notes that it ordinarily takes up to 10 years to subdue insurgencies. Pretty obviously he and the neocons have no intention to depart Iraq. We are at the moment laying out half a billion dollars to build a colossus embassy in the middle of Baghdad with ...
Q and A session with my clients on Enhanced Incomeshield Coverage
2007-06-15 06:31:00 I did teleconference and email session with my clients about the medical coverage in particular to our Enhanced Incomeshield. These are the actual questions people ask and the answers I have put up for the benefit of those insuring or going to insure with us. (Look out also for the future additions to our Enhanced Incomeshield. More benefits added in soon, at no extra cost!) Question 1) The plans require “prior approval” from Income before admitting to a hospital (except emergency) else or contrary to Income advice,”we may proportionately reduce the claim amount to what would have been reasonably incurred based on the entitled plan type and the professional opinion of our panel doctors”. —–> The purpose of buying/having insurance is to have a peace of mind when sickness/tragedy strucks.Imagine when one is sick and have to seek advice and get prior approval from the insurance company before admitting to hospital. In the case of a difference of opin...

2007-02-16 15:08:01 Recently, trapped in five o’clock Charlotte traffic I found myself behind a car with the bumper sticker that read “My country invaded Iraq and all I got was expensive gas”. I chuckled at first and then began to think how many people’s lives have been lost to the Iraqi war. Here we are complaining about gas prices (which ...

Selling Virginia Beach Homes Q and A
2006-12-09 20:43:02 QUESTION:Do sellers have to disclose the terms of other offers? ANSWER:Sellers are not legally obligated to disclose the terms of other offers to prospective buyers.QUESTION:How do I prepare the house for sale?ANSWER:First and foremost, put it in the best condition possible, especially if you are in a market with few buyers and lots of homes for sale. That means taking care of any major repairs that could deter a buyer (such as replacing any broken windows or replacing a leaky roof) if you can afford it. Next, work on your home's curb appeal. Make sure your landscape is pristine. Mow the grass, clean up any debris and weed the garden beds. Plant a few annual flowers near the entrance or in pots to be placed by the door. Other quick fixes that don't cost a lot of money but can help you get top dollar for your home:- Clean the windows and make sure the paint is not chipped or flaking.- Be sure that the doorbell works.- Clean and freshen up rooms, furnishings, floors, walls and ...
MICROWAVEABLE HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES Q and A
2006-08-06 19:36:01 I am starting a new series of Q and A (Questions and and answers) on "microwaveable heat retentive plates". Q: How do I use the heat retentive plates? A: preheat them for JUST ONE MINUTE in a microwave oven and serve your food hot as you normally do, the plate will keep your food hot. Alternatively you can heat up the food on the plate, give it one minute, check, keep heating in 30 second increments as wished. The RIM remains COOL FOR EASY HANDLING.
