2007-12-22 15:21:00 Rajasthan is currently the hot spot for two big film units from Mumbai - “Dilli 6″ and “Victory”. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s long-awaited “Dilli 6″ finally decided to shoot in Jaipur. While Mehra is recreating vignettes from New Delhi in Jaipur with his lead pair Sonam Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan, debutant director Ajit Pal is busy shooting dramatic sequences in Jaisalmer for his film “Victory”. “Victory” revolves around cricket and the game part of the film, which has Harman Baweja in the main lead, has been canned in Mumbai. “We’re shooting heavy duty dramatic scenes in the freezing cold and, that too, during the night when the temperature is below zero,” Anupam Kher, who plays Harman’s father in the movie, told IANS. “He reminds me of Hrithik Roshan, not just in looks but also in attitude and approach to his work. Like Hrithik, Harman has assisted his father on several productions. When he faces the camera, he knows exactly what he is doing.” ...

He sounds pretty excited about his upcoming Dilli 6 and here are some excerpts from a recent interview.On His Hiatus:“This is my natural pace of working. RDB came three years after my first film Aks. I’m coming after two and half years with Dilli 6. After Aks, I was un-learning my mistakes. My biggest shortcoming in Aks was the screenplay. It has taken me six years to understand the concept of the screenplay. Now I know the most imperative part of my creative system is to know what needs to be gotten out on screen. Now that Abhishek Bachchan has been finalized for the movie (for now), Mehra is concentrating on the female lead. And its none other than Sonam Kapoor.A source informs, "Sonam Kapoor has been finalised to play the lead role in Rakeysh Mehra's film Dilli 6. Earlier, Mehra was very keen to sign Kareena Kapoor and Soha Ali Khan for the role but the moment he signed Abhishek, he dropped the idea of signing Kareena altogther. After Saawariya trailers hit the small screen, Sonam bagged the role. Sonal is also pretty excited about working with Mehra and Abhishek Bachchan. Yes folks the casting has once again (I have lost count) underwent a change and now Hrithik is out and Siddharth of RDB Fame is in. Siddharth is an established star down south and won a lot of critical acclaim for his performance in RDB. Something tells me that this may not be the end of the casting woes of Mehra.
