I am not a fan of ECW. Never have been. I think that McMahon should have left ECW as just a pay per view. The only match I am really interested in is Hunter's match; therefore, I am only listing my picks for his match and a few others that sound interesting:'I Quit' Match: Melina vs. Beth PhoenixLove Beth Phoenix. How can you not love a pretty woman that can wrestle? I think she will make quick work of Melina.Stretcher Match: Batista vs. Shawn MichaelsHere is another opportunity for Shawn Michaels to make Batista look good. Shawn will do all the work and Batista will get the win. Heavyweight Championship Match: Undertaker vs. EdgeThe stipulation on this match is that The Undertaker will be banned from the WWE if he loses. I don't foresee that happening, although a "Tables, Ladders and Chairs" match is right up Edge's alley. Maybe The Undertaker is looking for some time off? I'm going to go with The Deadman to win.WWE Championship Match: Triple H (c) vs. Randy OrtonThe problem ...

The longstanding tug-of-war between Triple H and Randy Orton over the WWE Championship continues to rage with both men preparing to dig in their heels and battle at One Night Stand in a Last Man Standing Match. It?s a format in which Orton has excelled. It was a cold night in October at No Mercy ...

WWE Championship Street Fight: Triple H (C) vs. Randy OrtonOrton comes out to mixed reaction and Triple H follows with a huge pop. They go at it for awhile then Orton finally goes to the outside and grabs a garbage can from under the ring. Orton blasts Triple h with it, but its not enough so he uses the garbage can lid, but trips still wont stay down. Orton goes out for a chair and ends up giving Triple H a DDT onto it. Triple h kicks out and manages a comeback before going to the outside and grabs the sledgehammer. After Orton countered the pedigree Triple h ends up getting the win with a sledgehammer shot to the head after 20 minutes. Triple H celebrates for a long time, shaking hands with many fans on his way out.

Tony Chimel came to the ring and announced that Triple H will defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the main event. The fans got to choose the stipulation via cell phone. They could choose between a Cage Match, a 2 out a 3 falls or a No DQ. The fans chose a steel cage match.Triple H beat Randy Orton with the Pedigree in 20 minutes. Great match! Slow pace for the first 5 minutes, but the last 15 minutes made it great. Not a MOTYC but nice way to end an average show. It sent the people home happy, and if they repeat or maybe top tonight's performance, we will have a good Judgment Day main event. Triple H celebrated for 10 minutes with the fans after the match.source: pwtorch.com

Kudos to Triple H & Randy Orton

From Bill Apter of 1wrestling.com:I have to hand it to Triple H and Randy Orton. The two of them continue to expertly handle this feud that is reminiscent of a good-old-fashioned wrestling storyline. From the opening promo--that was so very intense--to the hold-for-hold and brawling in the match, Triple H and Orton showed that the WWE does indeed still know how to showcase a pro wrestling match in the proper manner.

Blackpool Blackout
2008-04-29 12:07:00
Seething from Mr. Kennedy's coronation crash earlier, a besmirched William Regal pulled the plug on Raw tonight. Before the conclusion of new WWE Champion Triple H's title bout with Randy Orton, the Blackpool, Englishman made Raw go black.Fan report from prowrestling.net:After the long crossface spot which was the last thing seen on TV, both Randy Orton and Triple H got a few more moves in before William Regal came down the ramp and told the referee, very calmly, to ring the bell. The crowd hated him, and he explained that since they were disrespectful to him during his coronation ceremony, they did not deserve to see the conclusion of this match?almost the same wording as on TV.The referee reluctantly signaled to ring the bell and the timekeeper did. Orton made his way up the ramp looking angry at Regal, and HHH ran up behind him and gave him a double axehandle. They moved back to the ring with the ref trying to keep them apart, insisting the match was over. Triple H hit the Pedi...

In a history-making Fatal Four Way Elimination battle at Backlash, The Game defeated a trio of past and present WWE Champions ? JBL, John Cena and, ultimately, Randy Orton ? to claim his 12th World Title.Ending the ?Age of Orton?s? near seven-month reign, Triple H not only secured his spot at the top of sports-entertainment, the King of Kings reseated himself upon the illustrious WWE Championship throne ? notwithstanding any argument from William Regal or any other Raw competitor. And, he did it by outlasting three veritably iconic WWE Superstars.

Ric Flair would never say it, but he loved me like I was his kid and he was like a dad to me on the road. I?m sure I let him down somewhere along the way. WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton (c) vs. Triple H vs. John Cena vs. JBLWhat Should Happen: You can't take the title off Orton. That would be criminal. He's just getting started as a decent WWE champ. Since this is an elimination match, I'd have it go down to JBL and Orton. JBL has done a fine job on the mic leading up to this match, and deserves some top-tier success. What Will Happen: Orton will find a way to win again...More?source: nbc4.com

"Age of Orton" secure against fatal four?
2008-04-19 17:45:00
WWE Champion Randy Orton will put the gold on the line at Backlash in a Fatal Four Way Match against challengers who have all held the title before - Triple H, JBL and John Cena. The match is unique in that Orton does not have to be pinned to lose his title, giving him just a 1-in-4 chance of walking out of Backlash still champion. Orton's fellow Superstars, and former opponents alike, all agree that the Fatal Four Way would normally favor the challengers, but as WWE.com found out, Orton's strategy in the ring may give him the edge.

Randy Orton (c) vs. Triple HOrton came out to easily the biggest heel reaction of the night, while Triple H got the biggest pop of the night. This was probably the best match of the night, with their being plenty of good bumps, Triple H even throwing Orton into the crowd at one point, as well as huge crowd involvement with Triple H, and Orton Sucks chants, Orton hit the RKO, but the referee was injured, and Triple H kicked out of the eventual cover.William Regal then came down to the ring, and distracted the referee for Orton to grab his belt, but Triple H hit a low blow and then hit Orton with the belt before going for the cover, which was broken up by an interfering Regal for the DQ finish.Winner via DQ: Triple H (Randy Orton still WWE Champion)Regal continued to attack Triple H after the match, but Triple H fought him off, hitting a Pedigree while Orton left the ring, Triple H then chased after Orton, bringing him back to the ring and nailing a Pedigree on him as well, then posing...

2008-02-19 11:52:00
After Randy Orton robbed John Cena of a chance at the main event at WrestleMania XXIV by slapping the referee and getting disqualified in their match at No Way Out, Raw General Manager William Regal arranged a non-title bout between the two Monday with Triple H serving as guest referee. As ?The Champ? pinned Orton, The Game intensely stared him down and reluctantly gave him the three-count. Cena?s win sets up a Triple Threat Title Match for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

RAW Reaction: Kennedy/Carlito Get Big Wins
2007-07-31 05:23:00
Tonight's RAW contained eight matches, and needless to say, there were some surprises. Kennedy pins Lashley with a clean victory and Carlito beats the Champ!Firstly, Carlito's Cabana is back, which should provide him with a nice push out of the mid-card and toward the top of the roster. Let's hope. We'll review the matches one by one here:Divas Tag Match - The sole purpose of this match was to move Santino Marella in a new direction. It's been rumored lately that he'll be making a heel turn, which makes sense considering that WWE sees foreigners as more hatable wrestlers.Santino Marella vs. Umaga - It was surprising not to see Jeff Hardy make an appearance in this match. He'll most likely be fighting Umaga at SummerSlam, so look for that feud to continue. Umaga is really starting to get some huge pops.Cody Rhodes vs. Daivari - It wouldn't have surprised me at all to see Cody lose this match and moved to Smackdown. Afterall, he was just brought up from OVW and might wa...
Great American Bash Reaction
2007-07-23 05:47:00
Have Smackdown's belts been rendered meaningless? Will Cena be champ for much longer? Will CM Punk no longer be the centerpiece of ECW? The answers...All titles except for the Cruiserweight Championship were retained at this years Great American Bash. Let's go match by match and see what each outcome entails:MVP def. Matt Hardy to retain U.S. Championship- MVP is a great champ and WWE recognizes his potential, so it's no surprise to see him get a clean win here. This feud could be a great one, though, so look for it to continue into SummerSlam for a rematch.Hornswaggle wins Cruiserweight Championship- Well, the Crusierweight belt hasn't meant that much in recent years, but it's probably reached a new low. It's not as bad as giving the Great Khali a world championship, but it's getting there. If anything, Hornswaggle at least brings more attention to the belt and it should be cool to see how this storyline is handled. Hornswaggle vs. Chavo at SummerSlam? Surely not......

Will WWE Put Over Its Great Heels?
2007-07-12 20:51:00
WWE has in their possesion some great heels who have all the potential in the world: The Legend Killer Randy Orton and (an Irish Whip favorite) Mr. Kennedy. However, recently these guys have more or less been used as beating devices for the top faces in the company, like Cena, Lashley, HBK, and Triple H. Will there come a time that WWE puts over either Orton or Kennedy with a clean win and makes him the top man in the company? The only way this would happen is if WWE turned one of them face. This wouldn't be difficult: Orton has been a beloved face in the past, and lot's of people love Kennedy to start with. Here's what WWE should do: a couple of months before a Wrestlemania, turn one of them face and turn Cena (or whoever the champ is at the time) heel. Then allow Orton or Kennedy a clean win. I generally like Cena, and he does a pretty good job with the belt, but he has had it for years now and has run his course. Orton and Kennedy (the Whip endorses Kennedy!) can be GREAT....
RAW Reaction: Lashley Gets The Push
2007-07-03 05:42:00
As reported earlier, the main event at the Great American Bash will be John Cena vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE title. These are the two top active stars in the company right now (isn't that a shame?) and they're going to go at it. I think we need a new WWE champ, at least for now, but I don't think that man should be Bobby Lashley. His mic skills are still unacceptably awful and his persona could use an injection of energy. Orton, Booker, and Kennedy all are great candidates for that title. Two other things of interest:- Umaga regains the Intercontinental title, and as stated before this is to add legitimacy to him before his SummerSlam match with the Jackass crew. He also won the Intercontinental belt right before his big match at Wrestlemania, if you recall.- Did it seem to anybody else that Shelton Benjamin may be receiving a push soon? He got time to cut a promo and wrestled his first singles match in a long time. It's about time they get him moving again.Drew Arnold, ...
ECW Preview and Predictions
2007-06-05 22:15:00
Tonight's episode of ECW (the last before the upcoming WWE draft) should contain three elements in it:1. The dismantling of the New Breed2. The phasing out of Rob Van Dam3. The continued "dominance" of LashleyFirstly, I fully expect CM Punk to be moved in the WWE draft next week to either Smackdown or RAW. If this is the case, then WWE will have to wind down the feud between Punk and the New Breed, which should take place tonight. Maybe look for Burke and Cor Von to kick Striker out of the group and become a two-man team.Next, we should see WWE writing RVD out of the show. Randy Orton will probably come on and brag about "killing the legend" of Rob Van Dam.Lastly, WWE.com is advertising a 3-on-1 handicap match for Lashley's title, with Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, and Balls Mahoney being the team of three. One of two things will happen here: More likely, Lashley will win the match and retain his title, thoroughly frustrating Vince McMahon. The other, less likely possibility is tha...

As I predicted, a busy and forgettable pre-PPV RAW. The opening divas segment, which involved them shooting each other with water guns and sliding all around, was absolutely worthless. I watch RAW to see wrestling, not to see something I could probably witness any night of the week at school. This followed with Shane's discussion of his 2 on 3 match later that night and the announcement (many of you knew about this already) that the three hour RAW on June 11th will feature a tri-branded draft. Who will draft and which wrestlers will be eligible remains to be seen. The Irish Whip has done a few segments on this, including my award-winning column "The Invasion Is Dead" along with a more insightful version done by Jared (which I can't find right now). The 8 man tag (Hardys and Cade & Murdoch vs. World's Greatest and Kenny & Nitro) was good, but not great. Of course, it had its moments involving Jeff Hardy and Johnny Nitro, but it went on too long and ended with Shelton Benj...

Randy Orton, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Edge, and Hurricane
2007-03-20 17:12:00
Since last summer Sports Illustrated reporters Luis Fernando Llosa and L. Jon Wertheim have been investigating an alleged illegal steroid distribution network that has implicated numerous pro athletes. On Feb. 27 the two SI writers accompanied federal and state drug enforcement agents on a raid of a Jupiter, Fla., anti-aging clinic that investigators allege conspired to fraudulently prescribe steroids, human growth hormone and other performance-enhancing drugs over the Internet.SI.com: What's the latest?Llosa/Wertheim: Investigators in Albany and Orlando continue to go through the material from last month's seizures. This means everything from testing drugs found in desk drawers to cross-referencing names that, we're told, include athletes of all levels.SI.com: Any sense when these names will be made public?Llosa/Wertheim: No. Obviously the "big names" are what have made this investigation a national concern. And, in all candor, it's the main reason news organizations -- includi...
