ReadyBoost for Windows XP

One of the most important improvement introduced by Windows Vista is surely the ReadyBoost technology (it permits to increase the PC performance using flash memories or USB pen drives: Vista uses these memories for its caching purpose instead on using hard drives that means more speed). Now, thanks to eBoostr (a product of the Moscow Development Office), it's possible to use a sort of ReadyBoost also on Windows XP. InnoDisk releasing internal ReadyBoost drive! FINALLY
2007-04-05 16:43:00
Since I read about ReadyBoost way back when vista was in the early beta stages i was excited,  a nice simple logical way to speed up a computer thats dirt cheap as well. It was easy to see it as a cheap upgrade for an old PC, but I soon invisioned something even bigger. New PC's coming with readyboost drives built in just 2-4 gigs and completely unseen just sitting inside the PC with some wicked read/write speeds waiting to accelerate our new PC habits. Only accelerated further by the fact ReadyDrive HDD's are coming as well. Well apparently InnoDisk has listened to my crys and smartly decided to release a dirt cheap DIRECT TO MOTHERBOARD readyboost drive, yep you read it right no crappy cables or ports, it plugs directly into one of your internal USB ports, completely unseen. Whats even more exciting is it will be available in 2GB a`nd 4GB versions (STARTING AS LOW AS 15$ can you see why i said OEM's could add these to pc's for next to nothing :D ????) the d...

Windows Vista ReadyBoost
2007-03-07 12:37:04
Windows Vista allows you to use flash based memory to be used as RAM(Random Access Memory). You can plug-in your high speed USB flash drive in to your computer and use this as an additional memory. Even though it won’t be as much fast as regular RAM, this concept will improve the overall system performance. Thanks to faster transfer rate of USB based flash drives. Windows Vista will cache programs in these memory that are not required in RAM, but not ready enough to be put in page file. Microsoft Says: Windows ReadyBoost introduces a new concept in add-on system memory. You can use nonvolatile flash memory devices, such as universal serial bus (USB) flash drives, to improve performance without having to add memory “under the hood.” The flash memory device serves as an additional memory cache?that is, memory that the computer can access much more quickly than it can access data on the hard disk drive.

What is USB Readyboost? or Readyboost Flash Drives?
2007-02-04 11:34:04
Readyboost is add-on memory for your Windows Vista operating system. With Readyboost one may use flash memory devices such as USB flash drives to improve PC performance. USB Readyboost allows increased PC performance without having to install additional memory on the motherboard, but rather externally via USB port. The newly inserted memory serves as additional cache location for RAM - or memory which the computer can access faster then a system hard drive. The Windows Vista OS will allow the user to secure the flash memory space so that other tasks cannot use that memory, for example, once a flash drive has been assigned as the Readyboost flash drive you can no longer use that device to save files or play music or retrieve videos and pictures. However, the Readyboost utility does give the user an ability to designate only portions of the memory for improving PC performance.  Need a Readyboost flash drive? ReadyBoost, Windows Vista new technology
2007-01-11 05:21:01
One of ?the new? functionalities that Windows Vista will bring is the call ReadyBoost technology. Is based on using a solid memory (It needs that that device has 230 free MB and to activate that option in the properties of the unit) like virtual memory when we have little physical memory and we do not want or we pruned to extend it. Its better access time with respect to a conventional hard disk causes that the use of virtual memory penalizes less. In order to provide greater security, the file of virtual memory in the solid memory will be encript with algorithm AES with key of 128 bits and the pages of memory will be compressed so that they occupy less. It gives the possibility us of being able to use any memory USB like additional memory so that the computer improves his rendimient. Windows Vista will need a more powerful PCs the hoped thing to work to total yield due to an intensive use of the vectorial graphs. A graphical card will be necessary of, 128MB of memory, 256MB or sup...
