RED introduces new stuff, shows Peter Jackson/RED ONE short, pocket cam/4k
2007-04-17 18:08:00 I had a chance to sit down with RED Digital Cinema to find out what's going on. They announced a set of primes for around $20,000; a professional pocket camera; a 4k display and projector (note, the pocket cam and the 4k display and monitor are in the planning stages and no specs, etc., were given). My friend and RED employee Graeme Nattress suggested I check out the short film written and directed by Peter Jackson (yes, THAT Peter Jackson) shot on two alpha RED cameras, Boris and Natasha. It was shot recently (late March/early April) and was projected in 4k on the new Sony 4k projector, the SXRD.To say it blew the small audience away would be an understatement!
