This week's biggest expected-score surprise might just be the one involving the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets. I just can't decide if the Browns' expected points total of 25 is surprisingly low or if the Jets' total of 22 is surprisingly high. Does this mean 1st-year starting QB, Kellen Clemens, is expected to have his best game of his short career? FWIW, he has never thrown for more than a single TD in a game nor has he thrown for more than 260 yards in a game. And if the QB does well, then the WRs likely will, too. Another surprise is the Saints/Falcons game. As road favorites without RB Reggie Bush and no semblance of a back-up RB, the team is expected to score 24 points or three TDs and a FG. NFL quarterbacks are falling like...what?  Leaves?  Citigroup's stock price?  Hillary's poll numbers in Iowa?  You can insert your own simile.  The point is that things are bad.  And these new, third-string quarterbacks affect their entire teams.  You may not care that some of these guys are starting, but you're probably counting on some players from their teams. According to Tracy Ringolsby, the Rockies already have their 2008 rotation picked out: Aaron Cook, Jeff Francis, Ubaldo Jimenez, Franklin Morales, and Jason Hirsh.  Of course, counting on each to make 30 starts would be folly.  With that in mind, Dan O'Dowd is looking for some veteran filler.  Specifically, he's trying to sign Mark Redman and Steve Trachsel.  Trachsel in particular would like to become a Rockie. Trax is 37; he pitched 159 innings over 29 starts in 2007.  He's always working out of a jam, given the amount of baserunners he puts on.  And he definitely pitches to contact.  Whenever a pitcher walks more than he whiffs, that's not good.  The Cubs deemed him to be worth less than $4.75MM, declining his '08 option for that amount.  I'm thinking one year, $3MM. A dear friend gave me a CD "Blessed Be Your Name - The Songs of Matt Redman Volume 1". It now lives in my CD player in the car. I kid you not, I have listened to this CD over and over again - on my way to work, and on my way back home, everyday since I received it. EVERYDAY.Why do I like this worship CD? I think it's because Matt Redman knows what it means to really worship. The lyrics of the songs are simply what one should express when confronted by the awesome presence of God. It's full of adoration and praise.When I am at church singing worship, sometimes I get bothered by some songs in which is it more of "give me, bless me, take away my pain" kind of songs. Not that they are bad. And I believe there's a place for it. But to worship... to worship means to take the focus away from our selves and to look upon God.
