2008-08-23 23:40:00 Unser Urlaub ist schon seit zwei Tagen vorbei und außer schöner Erinnerungen an unsere Rundreise haben wir offensichtlich auch den Regen mitgebracht: Wir haben es gerade noch rechtzeitig geschafft, die Wäscheberge Solar zu trocknen. Auch im Garten konnten noch die notwendigsten Arbeiten erledigt werden, bevor die Wassermassen von oben kamen. Nur schade, dass wir hier nicht mit einer Aussicht auf einen solchen Regenbogen belohnt werden. Die Klippen von Moher waren zunächst verregnet, zeigten sich aber am nächsten Tag für ca. 3 Stunden von der freundlichen Seite Wie es schien, wussten das auch sämtliche Busunternehmen aus der deutschsprachigen Schweiz ;-). Especially in fundamentalist Baptist circles, to bring up the topic of Calvinism is always to start a fiery discussion. In my debates and discussions concerning Calvinism, I have found that many particularly object to the idea that regeneration precedes faith (I defend this belief here). Some people go so far as to suggest that this belief represents an extreme form of Calvinism. Others suggest that this belief is a relatively new development in Calvinism. And inevitably, Charles H. Spurgeon gets dragged into the affair. Yes, some people go so far as to state that Spurgeon was against the belief that regeneration precedes faith. Well, I stumbled onto a blogpost which does an excellent job explaining Spurgeon’s true position. Yes, he affirmed that regeneration preceedes faith.
