This trip was worth every cent we spent on gas...The BF and I made our way up to northern Michigan. We spent a weekend with our families then trekked up to the U.P. for some camping, hiking, and biking. Plus some really great micro brew and probably the best fish I've ever eaten. The trip cost me a total of around $375 (including supplies) .This trip was really a reminder for me that living frugally doesn't have to be any different from actually living. We set up our own lodging at a rate of $14/night. We used the sun to heat water for our showers. We used books from the library and word of mouth to plan our destinations. I should listen to hubby and wait for the tankless water heater which he said he saw inside the internet to reach my place. Too bad that I did not listen to him and went ahead with my own plan which resulting I am banging my head on the wall as the one I bought does not really as good as I read in the magazine. Sigh!! Some more I thought I can save a bit and choose the one without pump option and guess what. Without the pump, the water pressure is not high enough to pump up until my room.Now I have to pay extra to get the external pump so that I can have enough water for bathing. 2008-04-20 15:40:00 New York Daily News baseball columnist Bill Madden went on the record and called the eight-year, $136 million (with a full no-trade) contract the Chicago Cubs gave Alfonso Soriano last year is going to go down as one of the worst, if not the worst ever before it's all over. In case you missed it, Soriano, who missed a month of last season with a quad injury, got hurt again last week, pulling another leg muscle while making a catch in the outfield. He's expected to be out for at least 2-3 weeks, which may actually turn out to be a blessing. That's because Soriano, who no longer steals bases for fear of pulling something and strikes out nearly five times as often as he walks, says he's only comfortable batting leadoff. He's currently hitting .175 with 11 strikeouts in 57 at-bats and is the epitome of the Cubs' one-dimensional righty-heavy, free-swinging lineup that scored only six runs against the Diamondbacks in their three-and-out division series pratfall last October.

In middle-of-nowhere hick towns I really wouldn't consider living in. Ever.I'm starting to come around about the idea of moving from this city, but I've decided that if I do, I'm only going to move to a city that will provide me with the opportunity to pursue a secondary career in professional sports (much like the part-time job I have now), and that could eventually lead to full-time employment in that industry. For example, I would move to Edmonton or Calgary because not only do they have NHL teams, but they also have a ton of teams that feed into the NHL.
