Bendis? handling of Nick Fury was one of the few bright spots in the Secret Invasion tie-in issues that we got on the Avengers titles. It is nice to have Nick Fury back in a monthly title. The Marvel Universe is just that much more interesting with Nick Fury active and doing his thing once again. I am not familiar at all with Jonathan Hickman.
