Hey, Randall Lane, You Sick Twisted Son Of A Bitch, Remember Me?
2008-05-07 17:42:00
Photo Of Randall Lane By Chester Higgins Jr./The New York Times Note: Aside from the last paragraph this post is written following the journalistic style of Randall Lane???treating assumptions and circumstantial evidence as fact. It???s cruel, amateurish and immature???oh yes, I know???but that basically sums this guy up so in order to help him grow up, he must be given a taste of his own medicine. To those who don???t care and just want stock picks???this is also a great lesson on how to pounce when your enemy is wounded, no different than the vultures who took out Bear or LTCM. Last time Randall Lane, editor-in-chief of Traitor Monthly was in Page Six, he was attacking a small-time trader (me) because his magazine staff fumbled, disinviting me from their little party at the last minute after we???d been discussing my covering the event for MSN Money for days. Clearly in the wrong, this balding bastard was forced to go on the offensive, charging my hedge fund???s losses were the ...

"In joy or sadness, flowers are our constant friends." -Kozuko OkakuraJust wanted to share a few snapshots of my garden today ? what a perfect afternoon! I am still a bit sad about leaving all of my ?friends? behind. I just hope the next owner will enjoy and take care of them. For now, I can take their picture so when I look back I will remember this day.

Save Time: Choose 'remember me on this computer'
2008-04-07 21:25:00
Are you using Google's Gmail email service? Here's how you can save time in your email activities. When you log in to Gmail, you see a small box that says: 'remember me on this computer.' Checking the box will allow Google to save your login information: user name and password. By the next time you use that computer, you don't have to retype your username and password. You save time in checking your email. In the user name box, just point the mouse there and type the first letter of your user name, and automatically your username will appear. Caution. Use this Gmail function only when you are using your personal computer. If you are using a public computer or checking your email in an Internet Cafe, never check this box. The next Internet user will be able to access your email. Goodbye to your private secrets. :) Open Announcement: Interested to own and build a yourname dot com website quickly and easily? Yes, it's been a while, hasn't it? Thank you for hanging in there and reading the blog, over and over, while I am recovering from the worst case of asthma I've had in years.I have now officially been sick since March 8th. My allergy doctor is befuddled. I've been coughing and coughing, and taking every prescription he can think of that might help me. This started the day before I left to visit Alabama (so I can't blame those people) and has only gotten worse over time.I like to tell Tim that it's due to global warming, and it probably is. The trees and flowers started earlier this year with pollen, it got hotter faster, therefore helping the fungus and mold to proliferate as well.I'm on Claritin AND the dreaded Singulair for allergies, taking a mega-strong antibiotic (again), plus all my regular meds for asthma and the daily "rescue" meds. And prednisone - my third course of it.Sorry to go on and on, but this is just one reason I've not been on blogging regularly. I p...

Sunday? Hello? How'd that happen? I know how it happened. Busy Dad has been out of the country for the past 10 days. Count them. One, zero days. Now, I'm not comparing my situation to anyone else's, but my situation is the only one I know, and this has been a significant departure from the norm. You see, I've had to make my own coffee, AND turn the flood lights off and on in the morning and at night. How much should one person have to handle, ya know? My 83 year old MIL is here helping, and, while I'm very grateful for her assistance, it's still like having a guest, and it can be a little stressful. Actually, things have gone pretty well despite the ve-ry large part of a tree that fell on the fence in a storm the morning after he left. You may remember our track record with trees. That would be the fence that keeps the Busy Dogs in the back yard. I cannot find the chainsaw anywhere, and, the part of the tree on the fence that's keeping me from fixing said fenc...

I'm still around. I've just been busy (sort of) and feel like I have nothing interesting to blog about. The new job is going well. I like the women I work with and the job responsibilities. The boss is a little strange and the other women in my department hate her. She recently went on maternity leave so I haven't had much time to judge for myself. I try to remember that the boss was the one who hired me and saved me from the horrors of job hunting, but it sounds like she's done some crappy, unethical things. She's certainly odd. She came straight to the office from the hospital with her newborn baby in order to pick up a case of Diet Dr. Pepper and some pineapple juice. She was still wearing her ID bracelets! She came back on the weekend to pick up her Lean Cuisines. The other women are sure her visits were an excuse to spy on us. Ahh, office politics.I haven't been doing much during my five weeks of employment other than working and looking forward to the weekend. When it fi...

Do you remember me from the other night? Probably not, because we really hit it off. --- One night, Tim was walking home when, all of a sudden, a thief jumped on him. Tim and the thief were began to wrestle. They rolled about on the ground and Tim put up a tremendous fight. However, the thief managed to get the better of him and pinned him to the ground. The thief then went through Tim's pockets and searched him. All the thief could find on Tim was 25 cents. The thief was so surprised at this that he asked Tim why he had bothered to fight so hard for a 25 cents. Was that all you wanted? Tim replied, I thought you were after the five hundred dollars I've got in my shoe!
Remember Me
2007-12-23 07:45:00
Do not shed tears when I have gone but smile instead because I have lived. Do not shut your eyes and pray to God that I?ll come back but open your eyes and see all that I have left behind. I know your heart will be empty because you cannot see me but still I want you to be full of the love we shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live only for yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of what happened between us yesterday. You can remember me and grieve that I have gone or you can cherish my memory and let it live on. You can cry and lose yourself become distraught and turn your back on the world or you can do what I want - smile, wipe away the tears, learn to love again and go on.*I can't go on. I must go on. I'll go on.----David Harkins----"Time falls like a great wave & hits those who are too weak to prevent it."

Have you ever had one of those friends you haven't called in a while and then you start feeling guilty about calling, so you put off calling even longer because you know they will want to know why you haven't called and when you tell them it will just sound like empty excuses so you put off calling even longer to try to avoid feeling more guilty and before you know it you decide you can never, ever speak to them again for fear of being a complete and total loser? That would be me.A complete and total LOOOO-ZER.More than a month since my last post. And every time I sit down to blog I can't deal with the guilt so I avoid it altogether. So let me just sum up in the last month in a nutshell for you.Two words: Algebra Sucks.I spent six...count 'em...SIX freaking hours on Algebra yesterday only to score a record-breaking 62 percent on my quiz.I hate Algebra and I hope whoever invented it died a slow, painful death.Just when I think I'm getting it, turns out I'm not. A Deputy Sheriff was rushed to the hospital with an inflamed appendix. The doctors operated and advised him that all was well. However, the patrolman kept feeling something pulling at the hair in his crotch. Worried that it might be a second surgery the doctors hadn't told him about, he finally got enough energy to pull his hospital gown up enough so he could look at what was making him so uncomfortable. Taped firmly across his pubic hair were three wide strips of adhesive tape, the kind that takes everything with it when you pull it off. Written in large black letters across the tape was the sentence: "Get well quick..... from the nurse you gave a ticket to last week."

US could be heading for recession Former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers warned that the United States may be heading into recession as the biggest victim to date of the sub-prime mortgage debacle was humiliatingly sold for a token sum in Germany. Traders are braced for another week of turmoil after the near breakdown of America's $2,200bn (£1,100bn) market for commercial paper. "It would be far too premature to judge this crisis over," Mr Summers said. "I would say the risks of recession are now greater than they've been any time since the period in the aftermath of 9/11." Meanwhile, the DJIA is up another 80 points or so in morning trading. If you recall, Larry Summers was probably much more famous for his controversial stint as President of Harvard than he was for his year and a half stay as Clinton's last Secretary of Treasury. That being said, I can pretty much guarantee that there will be people coming out of the woodwork for the next few weeks or months to tell us ...

Will You Remember Me?
2007-07-29 03:16:00
I think about that a lot. Will anyone remember me after I am gone? Will the memory of me just fade? I have lost a lot of loved ones, and I hate to admit that a lot of my memories of them have faded. Sometimes it is hard to even remember what they looked like. I miss my great-grandmother so much. She died when I was 15. I spent most of my summers with her until around the age of 13. She was a truly great woman. All that I have left to remember her by now are a few pictures and an old bowl. I would give anything to get to hear her laugh one more time. It’s really sad how time takes things away, we forget so easily. One way to stop that is by creating a Registry of Life. This is a website where you can create an online memorial honoring your loved ones. You can create your own page and add photographs, audio or music to it. I really like the idea of this, because I can see how it can help you deal with grief. A lot of times family members are separated and it makes it hard to com...

Good grief it's been two weeks since I posted last? Damn.I could throw excuses at you. I really could. But honestly, that is all they are - excuses. Believe me though, I have had alot of fun making them up.My favorite? I have a hangnail on my thumb that hurts when I hit the spacebar.Yes, instead of looking for reasons TO write, I was looking for reasons not to. I was looking at a blank blog page as some form of torture only comparable to having to listen to Ashlee Simpson actually sing...LIVE.Bleak times I tells ya.There were a few flashes of inspiration, but not near enough that I could call a creative roll. So again, the excuses came...Forecast says it is supposed to storm tomorrow, I better not blog today in case it comes early and fries my laptop. That is not one I am proud of.The reality of it all is that the weather here has been fantastic and I have been working my butt off around the house; tearing down outbuildings, cutting down trees and building the best horseshoe pit in ...

My fantasy reviews of the 2007 NFL Draft are over but there's still one "rookie" left to talk about. While everybody in your league is pouring over tired draft reviews (not mine, I mean those other guys), avoid the crowd and keep an eye on near-rookie linebacker Chad Greenway in Minnesota. Greenway tore his ACL in a preseason game last year and missed the entire season.  Now the AP is reporting that he's healthy, fired up, and ready to go.   Greenway was drafted 17th overall in 2006, ahead of rookie defensive stars Tamba Hali, Mathias Kiwanuka and DeMeco Ryans.  Greenway was targeted  early as a fantasy star, in the same mold as fellow rookie linebackers A.J. Hawk and Ernie Sims.  The injury ended that talk and sent Greenway to the cold, barren purgatory of injured Vikings (I think it's in Minnetonka). If Greenway were coming out in this year's draft, he would be considered a top 3 rookie linebacker.  He has a starting slot already lined up in Minn...

2007-04-14 00:00:00
This is a video depicting our men and women who serve in Iraq. This is made from the soldier's point of view as they beseech us to remember them. A reminder to us even while our opinions of the war may differ, remember who is there doing a job. A job they have no recourse to changing vocations once called to duty.
Inspiration & Devotionals :: Remember Me
2007-04-06 21:14:00
Author: Eric Subject: Remember Me Posted: Fri Apr 06, 2007 2:14 pm (GMT -5) Remember Me Jill Carattini There is something comforting about the many lives in Scripture of which we know very little. There was more to the story of the woman who knew that if she could just touch the fringe of Jesus's robe she would get well. There was more to tell about the woman who anointed Jesus with a jar of perfume, or the thief who hung beside Jesus on the cross. Yet, we are told only that they will be remembered. And they are. However insignificant their lives were to society, they have been captured in the pages of history as people worth remembering, people who had a role in the story of God on earth--people remembered by God when multitudes wished them forgotten. It is to me a tender reminder that our fleeting lives are yet infinitely significant because we are remembered by the one who sees our hearts and hears our prayers long before others notice and long after they have stopped lis...

Loreena McKennitt - Dante’s Prayer When the dark wood fell before me And all the paths were overgrown When the priests of pride say there is no other way I tilled the sorrows of stone I did not believe because I could not see Though you came to me in the night When the dawn seemed forever lost You showed me your love in the light of the stars Cast your eyes on the ocean Cast your soul to the sea When the dark night seems endless Please remember me Then the mountain rose before me By the deep well of desire From the fountain of forgiveness Beyond the ice and the fire Cast your eyes on the ocean Cast your soul to the sea When the dark night seems endless Please remember me Though we share this humble path, alone How fragile is the heart Oh give these clay feet wings to fly To touch the face of the stars Breathe life into this feeble heart Lift this mortal veil of fear Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears We’ll rise above these earthly cares Cast your eyes on the oc...
