Remote Viewing Whitewash?
2008-05-21 07:52:00 It's interesting to note how easily history/scientific results can be rewritten. In a New Scientist story we linked to earlier in the week - "Fifty years of DARPA: Hits, misses and ones to watch" - the following was listed in the 'Failed Projects' section: Telepathic spies: One of the agency's most infamous blunders was its 1970s psychic spy program, inspired by reports that the Soviets were researching the area. DARPA invested millions to see if telepaths and psychokinetics ? who claim to move objects using thought alone ? could carry out remote espionage. They couldn't. Now firstly I have to say that I've never actually heard of the psi spy programs belonging to DARPA - the 1970s forerunners of Project Stargate were funded by the CIA, and then at the end of the decade taken over by Air Force and Army. Kenneth Kress mentioned this about DARPA's involvement (in his article "Parapsychology in Intelligence"): At one time, we felt we had the strong interest of some people at DA...

Is Remote Viewing Real? What is the Evidence?
2007-09-13 17:51:00 There are sites on the net that claim to teach the ability, there's an International Remote Viewing Association (http://www.irva.org/) that even has conferences (http://irvaconference.org/) (there's one starting on October 19th, apparently), the US government has funded research in it (http://www.fas.org/irp/program-/collect/stargate.htm) (in the 1970's), we've even had customers buy our mind machines to help them with remote viewing and claim great success. I've never had any type of experiences that are anything like remote viewing - and I'm not sure that I believe that it is even possible - but I'm open to the idea. Star Gate'. (http://www.fas.org/irp/program-/collect/stargate.htm) They began the program in 1970 (then called SCANATE - good thing they changed the name to something that sounded cooler) at the Stanford Research Institute in Menlo Park, Ca. This program continued in different forms using both soldiers and civilians who were believed to posess natural psychic ...

Intuition, remote viewing etc...
2006-12-29 18:32:00 Intuition isn't an easy concept to understand although conversely it is suggested to be the easiest and simplest way to understand something. So we ask ourselves what is intuition in the event that it not suggested to be an aggregate of our other classic functions of adaption; that is instincts/sensations, feelings and thinking. Intuition is considered by some as pre-sense sense perception which means that it is something analogous to a 'seventh sense' the 'sixth sense' being only acutely developed sense in its normal use. To intuit something is said not to have to think about about or rely on the assessment of the normal senses and feelings. Although the mechanism of thinking does in my opinion involve the use of sense for the purpose of navigation and direction towards a target (knowledge) through a number of stages, to intuit something is not necessarily to follow such a path although one might suggest that in the limit of intuitive capability one could intuit those thoughts...
