What Shall We Rename "The Crosstown Cup"?
2010-05-29 02:52:00 We are all talking about the Cup in Chicago. No not the Stanley Cup. It was announced last month, that the winner of most of the 6 games between the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs would have a "Crosstown Cup" associated with it beginning this year. BP (uh-oh) Products North America, the newest sponsor of both clubs would give the trophy. I can't wait for the jokes to come in a few weeks when the series begins: Will the cup be fill with oil? What happens if we spill the cup? Will players slide around the bases? There will also be prizes: Free trip for swimming in the gulf? Maybe the Cubs and Sox should fine someone else...
Limbaugh should buy Bears, rename them Chicago Rush
2009-10-19 14:03:00 This is ridiculous. Not as in Jeff Joniak's "Devin Hester, you are ridiculous," which Hester (and his return game mates) showed signs of being. Special teams gave the offense an Arena Football field, which is what a dome is for anyway. No, this was ridiculous as in John Wayne's "this is ri-goddam-diculous." An interception in the red zone, a fumble in the red zone, then Forte decides he has the yips and fumbles on the very next play (how often does that happen? about as often as the Atlanta Falcons have back-to-back winning seasons, which, thanks in part to the Bears, the Falcons will finally have). Oh, and an Orlando Pace false start on fourth and 1 at the 5 ...

Mimic Vista's File Rename Feature in XP [AutoHotkey Answers] - SendMeRSS
2008-02-13 07:41:00 Mimic Vista's File Rename Feature in XP [AutoHotkey Answers] Dear Lifehacker, The only Vista feature (honestly) I hoped that XP could have is a very simple one. In Explorer if you hit F2 to rename a file Vista automatically selects the file name WITHOUT the extension, something that does not happen in XP. I cannot begin to describe how frustrating it is to hit F2+Shift+ Respectfully, Renaming Randy Dear Randy, I'm all over this one, and it's AutoHotkey to the rescue! It's very possible that there are better ways to add this functionality, but it's wildly easy to do with AutoHotkey, so that's what I've done. Like you said, every time you hit F2 to rename a file, you also need to hit Shift+Left Arrow four times. Using AutoHotkey, I've just automated that process. If you're just interested in getting the functionality, either download the Better Rename.exe file or download the AutoHotkey source. If you want a better idea of how it works, check out the code below: ...
Mercedes is going to rename C-class Sport Coupe
2008-02-03 12:51:00 Remember a last year's sensation concerning registration by a Mercedes of one more name for any model? Then it was supposed, that it will be a cabriolet on the basis of CL or dual variant CLS, or even the serial version concept Ocean Drive. Anybody has not guessed. It has appeared, that so will be called now C-class Sport Coupe. What for was to rename the car? About it it is possible to guess only. Possibly, Germans have not wanted, that the compartment on the basis of last generation of a C-class was somehow crossed with the new. Though to what then to "brush" him under appearance modern "Tseshki"?Probably, answers to many questions will be given during the official premiere of the first in history Mercedes-Benz CLC. To wait for it, by the way, remains any more so long - new, but at the same time well familiar, compartments will show next year. For now the car passes tests.Mercedes Blog
How to rename multiple files with Windows
2008-02-01 17:24:00 Whenever you want to rename multiple files with the same piece of text and an individual number for each file, as in photo1.jpg, photo2.jpg and so on, you usually either have to do this manually or use a batch rename program. Yet, Windows has the facility to do this, albeit in a rough-and-ready way.To rename multiple files, select all the files you wish to rename (in a previous post I looked at various ways of selecting multiple files). Then either right-click on any of the files and select Rename from the context menu (this method is demonstrated in the following video), or press F2. Type in the new name of the file - including the file extension if it is visible (eg. .doc, .jpg, etc) - and press Enter. All the other selected files will be renamed with an individual number in brackets. So, if you type in photo.jpg, the next file will be called photo (1).jpg, the next photo (2).jpg and so on.Omar Abid Blog

Rename Files in Batches with File List
2007-11-19 15:22:00 It is easy to rename one or two files on the Mac, but what if you have dozens or even hundreds of photos or other files that you want to rename? You could spend time creating a specialized tool with AppleScript or Automator, but that takes time and skills you might not have. An easier way to go is with a utility that renames files in batches. The best of its kind is File List by Peter Maurer of Many Tricks. After you download File List, put it in your Applications or Utilities folder. Then drag it into the toolbar of the Finder so it is available whenever you need it. Next, click on it and choose the Preferences icon in its toolbar. There you can tell it what it is supposed to do when you open it. Choose "Populate with current Finder selection" to have it choose the files you have already highlighted in the Finder. Now any time you are in the Finder, you can select files and click on File List in the Finder toolbar to begin renaming. (File List also works with the paid Finder altern...

Rename Multiple Files In Winxp with ease
2007-09-04 04:34:00 XP lets you rename files in bulk by simply selecting multiple files within Windows Explorer and pressing the F2 key. When you use this feature, the OS applies the name you enter to the first file and applies the same name with a number in parentheses to the other files you selected (the file extensions remain unchanged). For example, if you select the following files,* notes.doc* figures.xls* disney.jpg* holiday.gifand rename the first file (notes.doc) to SoD.doc, XP renames the remaining files as follows:* SoD (1).xls* SoD (2).jpg* SoD(3).gifI used to get a particular problem when i try to transfer and save the images and video clips taken by my cellphone to hard disk.Every time i tried to copy those stuff from my phone memory to my 'cell_image' folder, windows can not copy because already exists files with the same name. Now changing those file names to a different, is a mammoth task. This technique helped me a lot to resolve this issue. I hope, you will catch a situation too,...

With this being said here was the situation: A company was bought out by another company and wanted to retain the purchased companies domain structure while just changing the domain name. FeedBurner Adopts Two-Year-Old, Renames it 'FeedSmith'
2007-05-03 23:47:00 It's official. We've signed adoption papers for the popular WordPress plugin that seamlessly redirects requests for an ordinary feed (from self-hosted WordPress blogs) to your super-powered FeedBurner feed. This plugin — a toddler in age, but a prodigy with HTTP requests — will be made available directly from FeedBurner as "FeedSmith." It was originally raised by the multi-talented Steve Smith, who's trusting us to ensure its continued well-being. If you aren't already familiar with this handy plugin, you should know it's a reliable way to track your entire feed-reading audience and can even result in that elusive "bump in subscribers" effect when you first activate it. What the plugin accomplishes, in Steve's own words:Using some WordPress plugin magic, and user-agent detection, this plugin simply forwards all your feed traffic to FeedBurner. The plugin will detect all ways to access your feed (e.g. http://www.yoursite.com/feed/ or http://www.yoursite.com/wp-rss2-...
