When Reporters Become the News We All Lose

-By Warner Todd Huston As the media systematically ignores the good news in Iraq, the AP instead turns to ?reporting? on a ?journalist?s? Iraq love tryst. Why we need to see a story of CBS’ Lara Logan’s romance troubles is anyone?s guess? But apparently the AP thinks that Lara Logan’s love tryst with a married contractor ...

Justin Timberlake Love Guru Reporters
2008-06-05 21:49:00
Guess the pressure that LALATE told you to put has worked. LALATE told you yesterday that Justin Timberlake had reportedly banned reporters from asking him questions for his film “Love Guru” until they first signed a ridiculous agreement … .. because, well, Justin Timberlake is of course the next Marlon Brando. Now, that camp has reportedly changed their ways allegedly and will not ...

Speaking of idiot "reporters"
2008-05-21 02:08:00
Special Comment (5/19/08)Keith, I know exactly what you meant by your statements, which is why they were completely ignored by this site. I only publish your comments when you say something stupid or you distort the truth. Sadly, you do this quite often. But rather than just saying that you got hate mail from people, you try to blame "the right wingers and right wing blogs" out on the internet. Quite the broad brush you're painting with eh Keith? For the record, I think you're a truth distorting idiot with no real things to bitch about if your Messiah Obama is elected. Four ABC News Reporters Collaborate To “Report” The “Shoc
2008-05-15 08:13:00
Question: WHY Does It Take FOUR Mainstream Media (”MSM”) Reporters To Announce A “Has-Been’s”- Endorsement Of A Presidential Hopeful? The headline tonight at ABC News‘ “Political Radar” SCREAMS: “Edwards To Endorse Obama“. Despite the FACT Mr. Ambulance Chaser Edwards’ endoresment was seen on LIVE TV by MILLIONS, it STILL took four (count ‘em — Kate Snow, Raelyn Johnson, Sunlen Miller, and Rick Klein — that’s FOUR) ABC News MSM reporters to collaborate, fact-check, and, ULTIMATELY, bring this so-called “breaking nooz” to the public. One can only guess: Kate Snow watched the endorsement live while recording it on her DVR. She phoned Raelyn Johnson, said, “You’ve GOTTA see this SH*&!!!!“. Raelyn jumps into her hybrid and guns the throttle, maxing it out doing 40 in a 35 MPH zone to Kate’s apartment. Shocked at the video, she phones Sunlen Miller who veri...

Seattle reporters comment on Beren, McDermott Joni Balter in the February 28 Seattle Times: "The best hope, and it's more wispy than real, is that Congressman Jim McDermott of Seattle moves on. That one officeholder steps aside and a cool blast of fresh air moves in." Joel Connelly in the February 29 Seattle Post-Intelligencer: "Candidly, I wish this space could report insurgent Republican activity in all-Democratic Seattle. Dealing with reporters? How to avoid getting Sandeeped
2008-02-02 00:31:00
The left blogogentsia is all blowed up this afternoon over the story Martin wrote about earlier today. Since that post, more info has come to light that makes Sandeep Kaushik, the campaign spokesman in question, look considerably less guilty and that makes the cub reporter in training look like somebody who walked into the room knowing what story he was going to write, regardless of what was actually said. I think Martin is going to have more on this later, so I’ll hold off on further comment about the story itself. However, I do want to offer a thoughts on how to avoid the fate that Mr. Kaushik stumbled into. There’s an important object lesson here for any of us who might find ourselves talking to the press. I’ve been misquoted myself, and in far worse ways than this one, by real reporters. In one instance the bozo quoted me saying something that not only did I not say, I had never even thought it. Literally, for a graf or so the story turned into pure creative wr...
