2008-04-02 00:24:00 Era certo deles não terem esbarrado por aÃ, nalgum lugar: em 1853 Debret já estava morto, mas a provÃncia havia mudado bem pouco desde a última prancha que ele esboçou. Lembro que o Largo do Palácio ainda não havia sido aterrado e, onde agora há uma passagem subterrânea para os ônibus que saem a toda velocidade do terminal rodoviário, era simplesmente mar, eram os barcos pequenos atracando nas escadinhas junto ao luxuoso chafariz e os negros iam descarregando os mais diferentes tipos de produtos, sempre com cestos na cabeça e sem camisas. Era ali no parapeito do cais que muitos homens se sentavam no final da tarde pra um refresco. Dona Felicidade Maria vendeu metade da banca de doces em menos de meia hora correndo de um lado para o outro afim de exterminar com a outra metade. 2008-04-01 01:06:00 Rio de Janeiro - A Secretaria Municipal de Saúde confirmou hoje (31) mais 13 mortos por dengue na cidade. Com isso, o número passou de 31 para 44 neste ano. Do total, 23 são crianças. Se as 13 novas mortes forem somadas à s últimas estatÃsticas da Secretaria Estadual de Saúde, o número de mortos no estado sobe a 67. Segundo dados divulgados hoje pela Secretaria, já foram registrados 32.689 casos de dengue no municÃpio. "They thought it was a police operation and started shooting. Luckily, nobody was hurt," a police official said. ... Pelo menos no meu caso...Já andava mesmo com uma baita saudade do Rio, o Rio da minha adolescência, do posto 9 de Ipanema, das andanças pela Visconde de Pirajá entrando e saindo da Galeria Forum de Ipanema, dos sorvetes da Chaika e da matinê das boates da época...Houve um dia em que o Rio era conhecido apenas por ser a cidade maravilhosa e não pelos traficantes e tiroteios que volta e meia escapam das favelas e vão parar na zona sul.Foi durante este tempo que passei férias maravilhosas, na companhia das minhas primas e vivi uma adolescência privilegiada, eu que vinha de uma cidade tão distante de tudo e de todos como é Belém do Pará.Depois de muitos anos, voltei lá, já com o meu marido.
