According to the organisers of the Golden Cameras award, Oscar winner De Niro will be receiving the lifetime achievement award while Minogue would be awarded for best international music act. "Robert De Niro has made himself a legend in his own time. The movie industry owes him for innumerable never-to-be-forgotten moments," BBC quoted the jury panel, as saying. And Minogue will be honoured "for her brilliant comeback after recovering from cancer". Famed actor Robert De Niro puts his director hat on for only the second time. His first movie A Bronx Tale was critically acclaimed so it is a shame his sophomore effort misses so much. The cast of Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, William Hurt, Alec Baldwin and John Turturro are as good as an ensemble cast as you could get. The production values are fantastic and got nominated for an Oscar. If this was re-edited down to something more tight (it has a 2h 40min running time currently) and given more focus it would have been so much better. This is a JM THUMBS DOWN.

Fireman's Fund insurance group filed its suit this week against De Niro, accusing him of misrepresenting his prostate cancer to it before shooting on the film "Hide and Seek" began, The New York Post said Saturday. The suit alleges that De Niro cost the company more than $1.8 million when it was forced to pay Fox studios for a filming delay caused by the actor's illness.
