Easy Cabbage Roll Recipe
2008-06-03 18:16:00 Ingredients10 cabbage leaves1 cup of white rice2 cups of water1 pound of lean ground beef1 cup of dry bread crumbs1 pinch of ground cinnamon1 (28 ounce) can of whole peeled tomatoes, chopped1 onion, diced1 teaspoon of saltDirections 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). 2. Bring a large pot of water to boil, add cabbage leaves and cook for 2 minutes. Drain.3. Combine the rice and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove from the heat and set aside. 4. In a large bowl, combine beef, bread crumbs, cinnamon, drained and chopped tomatoes, onion and salt; stir until well combined. Spoon equal amounts of beef mixture onto the center of each cabbage leaf. Place a spoonful of rice onto the beef. Roll up leaves, tucking in the edges, and seal with a toothpick. Wrap each roll in aluminum foil and place in a shallow baking dish. 5. Bake for 40 minutes, or until beef is cooked through.
