Experience is to Hillary as 9/11 is to Giuliani
2008-01-21 16:41:00
Rudolph Giuliani’s ritualistic incantations of 9/11 have become a national joke. In truth, his inspirational presence was overshadowed by his failure to prepare the city for a terrorist attack. Also he failed to upgrade the infamous faulty radios used by first responders, many of whom he infuriated by calling off the search for bodies at Ground Zero just when the volunteers felt they were on the brink of finding more. Hillary’s got her own equivalent of Giuliani’s 9/11: her “experience.” It’s gospel to much of the public but some in the media aren’t buying it. Like Timothy Noah at Slate: “Oh, please.” And Ari Emanuel on Huffington Post: “Give me a break.” What’s the problem? For starters, the amount of experience she claims. “Thirty-five years takes you back to 1973,” Noah writes, “half of which Hillary spent in law school, for crying out loud.” Emanuel asks, “And what about [Obama&...
US Presidential Candidates V - Rudolph Giuliani
2007-12-06 01:43:00
Rudolph William Giuliani was born in Brooklyn, New York. His father, Harold, had run afoul of the law as a young man, and after paying the consequences, worked hard to instill an unwavering respect for the law in his only child. To escape the influences of criminal acquaintances in the old neighborhood, Harold Giuliani moved ...
Rudolph Giuliani, "Who Should America Listen To"
2007-09-18 03:38:00
This country has lost all credibility with the rest of the world. Could Rudy Giuliani really bring us back to where we once was or does he have other reasons to become President?Rudolph Giuliani's membership on an elite Iraq study panel came to an abrupt end last spring after he failed to show up for a single official meeting of the group, causing the panel's top Republican to give him a stark choice: either attend the meetings or quit, several sources said.Giuliani left the Iraq Study Group last May after just two months, walking away from a chance to make up for his lack of foreign policy credentials on the top issue in the 2008 race, the Iraq war.He cited "previous time commitments" in a letter explaining his decision to quit, and a look at his schedule suggests why -- the sessions at times conflicted with Giuliani's lucrative speaking tour that garnered him $11.4 million in 14 months.I guess if you compare Giuliani to President Bush's standards, then maybe this he's OK, fo...

Tommy Thompson Withdrawals Presidential Bid After Straw Poll
2007-08-14 08:06:00
Tommy Thompson waits to be introduced by the Iowa Straw Poll in Ames, Iowa. REUTERS/Joshua Lott Former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson withdrew from the presidential race on Sunday after a disappointing sixth place finish in the Iowa Republican straw poll. Thompson bet it all on the straw poll hoping a decent finish there would be a sign that his campaign was turning around but he lost that bet. The poll on Saturday placed him ahead of candidates who decided either not to show up to the event or they have not even entered the race yet. Duncan Hunter and John Cox also finished behind Thompson with less than 1% which is about where they have been polling. Thompson said if he did not finish in the top two in Saturday?s straw poll that he would withdrawal from the race. ?I have no regrets about running. I felt my record as governor of Wisconsin and secretary of Health and Human Services gave me the experience I needed to serve as president, but I respect t...

Motiveless Crime News Headlines

50 Killed in Iraq ViolenceThe violence in Iraq is reaching new and more bloody heights today after a total of 50 bodies were found. Police found 20 beheaded bodies on a riverbank near a Sunni village. Following that startling discovery another car bomb exploded at a bus station during morning rush hour, killing 20 civilians and wounding over 40 more. Mortars rained down in the Shorja commerical district of Baghdad, killing two. A roadside bomb killed four soldiers (3 British, 1 US). Yet again Operation Arrowhead Ripper is killing more than helping anything.Bush wants Castro to disappear"One day the good Lord will take Fidel Castro away," was the most literate sentence that President George W. Bush said when responding to a question fielded at Naval War College today. Castro has long been a problem for US Presidents due to his long-lived reign and resistance to US demands on how to control his territory. Castro is now 80 and has accused Bush of signing off on an assassination attempt...

Yesterday's post entitled Guilty Pleasures has garnered a lot of attention and has lead to a decent number of emails asking for me to continue the segment daily. After discussing it with a few people, I have decided to do just that. This by no means is a sign that Motiveless Crime is selling out or becoming a gossip rag. If you notice, my comments continue to contain my opinion and the more academic and intellectual posts will continue to outnumber the rumor mill pieces.Like any Monday, today is starting off with a negative black bang. Apparently the Gaza Strip has been closed down due to the large amounts of violence caused by the control of the area by Hamas. In the past three days Afghanistan has reemerged as a war zone and I can't help but think the people behind it really wanted to remind Americans that we have ruined their way of life too. Iraq was a way to distract from Afghanistan and more importantly, the fact that we never caught Osama bin Laden. Over 100 people have die...
Rudolph Giuliani? What Were We Talking About?
2007-03-03 23:12:04
By Selwyn Duke Okay, I?ve had enough. I know the empty-vessel Shill Media struggle for something, anything to talk about, this being the lot of those intellectually and philosophically bankrupt. But Rudolph Giuliani for president? Please. There?s more chance I?ll simultaneously be made head of NOW and ...
