Aussie Robbie Deans Interview on Inside Rugby
2008-06-05 16:40:00
If you're not sick of hearing all about the Wallabies' glorious new coach Aussie Robbie Deans, then here's a great clip put Edited by Moses over at Go The Tahs from Inside Rugby on Fox. While there's not too much in it that's earth shattering, I guess it's interesting to actually hear the guy speak rather than just hold aloft the Super 14 trophy. The point that he's a 'hands on' coach comes... ....follow link for more

24/05/2008: Crusaders-Hurricanes 33-22 (Rugby Super 14 - Semifinale)
2008-05-26 19:51:00
The Crusaders bounced back from last week's defeat to the Highlanders in the first Semi final of the 2008 Super 14 beating the Hurricanes by 33 points to 22. The result means that the 2008 Super 14 final will be held at the AMI Stadium in Christchurch and that means home advantage for the Crusaders. The Crusaders were in ominous form as they completely dominated the Hurricanes in all facets of the game. The Hurricanes however started well as Zac Guildford scored the first try of the match but a few minutes later the Crusaders had taken control of the match.

Munster?s Heineken Cup Win
2008-05-26 12:49:00
The last fifteen minutes were tedious. Magnificent monotony and beautiful boredom intertwined with the most gut-wrenching tension. The Waratahs won their way into their second Super 14 final with a four-tries to one victory over the error-strewn Sharks. The Sharks lost last year's final by a point to the Bulls but they hardly featured against the well-drilled Waratahs, who dominated the breakdowns with intimidating defence and stole five lineouts from the Sharks. Rugby is quietly building momentum
2008-05-22 14:53:00
Robert Husseman, a sports copy editor for the Oregon Daily Emerald, writes that the University of Oregon could be the first major Division I program to adopt women's rugby as an NCAA sport. The club team recently petitioned Oregon's athletic department, asking for NCAA status. This does not guarantee the sport will be established on the Eugene campus; however, it does show that women's rugby is quietly building some momentum. The sport is currently on the NCAA's emerging sports list, which essentially means that the NCAA has given it 10 years to garner enough teams to offer a championship. So far, five universities play women's rugby ? Eastern Illinois University, West Chester (Pa.) University, Bowdoin College, Southern Vermont College and Norwich University ? which is far below the required 40 teams needed to earn championship status. But the NCAA would probably extend women's rugby an additional five or 10 years if momentum continues to build. According to Husseman, petition...
