After starring in films including Beloved, Crash, and The Pursuit Of Happyness, Thandie was looking for something much lighter. Thandie spoke about Run Fat Boy Run saying, “It was like, ‘Oh yeah, please, I want to play a girl who has it sorted.’ I realised that I wasn’t making films that reflected my joy and my optimism. However Run Fat Boy Run will be totally different from Forest Gump. It is a British comedy in which a young guy leaves his pregnant fiance on their wedding day.
