Full Disk Encryption Not Present On Saks Fifth Avenue Stolen Laptops
2008-05-09 05:25:00 Saks Fifth Avenue, one of the premier names when it comes to shopping, has filed a letter with the Attorney General of New Hampshire, notifying them of an information security incident. In April, four company laptops were stolen, two of them with sensitive information. The sensitive information included names, addresses, and credit card numbers. Expiration dates, pin numbers, passwords, codes and other sensitive data were not included (as they shouldn?t have, since it would run counter to PCI-DSS rules, which states such information should not be stored, including credit card numbers). The letter mentions the laptops had password?protection, but there is no mention of any kind of encryption, be it hard drive encryption or file encryption. Because the lost information is limited in its sensitivity, Saks believes that there is a very low risk of identity theft or credit card fraud. 2008-03-26 00:13:00 This is a good one...and it's also valid in store. Which is good, because there's not a *great* selection online in my opinion. Anyway, through 3/31, buy two pairs of shoes at Saks Fifth Avenue totaling at least $400, get a $150 gift card. I'm seriously thinking about this one, because $150 is ALMOST a pair of Revas. And, if I can keep my shoe purchases to about $200 a pair, it's totally worth it. Here's what I would buy: Tory Burch Thongs for $195 Kors Thong Sandals for $195 And then, because I'm $10 short of $400, these to make it up cheaply: Havaianas Flip Flops for $15 Not bad if I do say so myself. Problem is, I'm not EXCITED about any of those shoes, so it's not worth it. I'm waiting for a few more days to see if they add new items.

Though I've never been to Pamplona, Spain, I believe my after-Christmas shopping experience was very similiar to the Running of the Bulls event. This year was by far the biggest mob scene the I've ever encountered. Battling the women in Beverly Hills is no easy task anytime of the year, but the day after-Christmas is a whole other story.It all began as a calm and sunny Wednesday morning in Los Angeles. I finally reached the valet of Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills at 8am after waiting in line to view rows of cars in front of me and hoping that I would be one of the lucky ones to actually get parking. I was still in the car at 8am when the doors opened to the store and grown women pushed and shoved their way in. Once the bottleneck was gone, I entered the store to meet one of my girlfriend?s in the shoe department but the crowd was too fierce.
