The actor will pick up the accolade at a ceremony to be held at London's Docklands on Saturday (26Apr08). The prize is handed out to the individual responsible for helping to take Bollywood culture to a global stage. Khan succeeds last year's winner Yash Raj Chopra. Six other awards will be presented at the 14th annual ceremony, which is aired in 128 countries to an audience of 500 million.

Dharmendra was the chief guest at the event at Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai to celebrate Nihalani's 30 years in Bollywood, the launch of his music lablel - Dhol Music - and the release of the music for his forthcoming film Khushboo.
