Game 4: L.A. Lakers Vs. San Antonio Spurs
2008-05-28 10:40:00 I must say it’s coming to an end with the San Antonio Spurs. The Los Angeles Lakers won the away game last night by two (93-91). The Lakers go home in Game 5. L.A. haven’t lost a home game in the series yet so it’s not looking too good for the Spurs. The Lakers are ...
NBA Playoff Thoughts
2008-05-28 08:29:00 Here's some playoff thoughts thus far from an ordinary guy:-The Spurs-Lakers series is closer than it indicates. In game 1 if the Spurs hit a few more buckets and make one or two more defensive stops, they steal game one. Also, in game 4 the Spurs could have won this one too. The Spurs just couldn't get over the hump. Poor shot selection when they had a chance to tie or go ahead. Plus, Brent Barry easily got fouled by Derek Fisher at the end.I am an advocate for refs not deciding games, mainly at the end, but man this was a blatant foul. The Spurs could easily be the ones up 3-1, but you have to give Kobe his dues, he is finally winning without Shaq (No pun intended).-The Celtics will win the NBA Finals. Sorry Detroit fans, but there is no way you will win any more games in Boston. The Big 3 are just unstoppable there and the fans are right there behind the Celts. Boston just seems to be on their game when they're at home. Now that they have shown they can at least steal a game on...

Western Conference Finals Preview
2008-05-22 00:24:00 Once again the Spurs and Lakers meet in the playoffs. Although they haven't played since 2004, there's been some great match ups between the two and the winner usually ends up winning the NBA Finals. Both teams have combined to win seven of the last nine championships, the Spurs won in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007 and the Lakers won from 2000-02. They lost in the NBA Finals in 20o4 to Detroit. This one should be a dandy once again. The Lakers are a different team then the past few years. Kobe Bryant is his normal self and he finally has teammates that can back him up and trust. This Laker team has been the most impressive team thus far in the playoffs. They've been so consistent and they're getting balanced scoring night in and night out.As for the Spurs, they've been a little inconsistent. The first two games against the Hornets they looked lost. But in game 7 they looked like their old championship selves. This should be a great series, which I am expecting to go seven games.Analys...

2008-05-17 23:15:00 The theme in the 2008 NBA playoffs should be changed from “There Can Only Be One” to “Thank God We’re Home.!” It seems that none of the elite teams can win on the road. The Boston Celtics had the best road record in the NBA at 31-10 but have been taken to the limit in ...

Luck Of The Irish Was With The Celtics
2008-03-18 04:59:00 After falling behind by 22 points early in the second quarter, the Boston Celtics pulled out their lucky 4 leaf clovers and started to chip away at that lead held by the San Antonio Spurs. In the end, the Celtics came out on top with a hard fought 93-91 victory over the Spurs at the Alamo Dome. Paul Pierce led the way for the Green tonight as he had 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The Big Ticket, Kevin Garnett, added 21 points and 8 boards while Rajon Rondo chipped in with 20 points. Newcomer Sam Cassell got into the act as well as he contributed 17 points to the Celtics winning cause. Manu Ginobli paced the Spurs with 32 points. Mr. Eva Longoria, Tony Parker, had 17 points and a game-high 8 assists. Tim Duncan rounded out the Spurs in double figures with 10 points and had 8 rebounds. The Spurs totally dominated the Celtics in the first half as they got out to that 22 point lead. They eventually got the lead down to 10 points at the half at 53-43. We have seen all season how do...

Stage is Set: Los Angeles Lakers vs San Antonio Spurs
2008-01-23 05:27:00 After an impressive and convincing win over a good Denver Nuggets team on Monday, the Lakers seemingly still can compete against the best teams in the league, but can they give a healthy defending champion San Antonio Spurs a run for their money? The answer is hell yeah, even though Lakers' centers Andrew Bynum, Chris Mihm and defense specialist Trevor Ariza are injured, the Lakers have what it takes to compete against the Spurs as long as they keep playing team basketball and their bench (mainly Jordan Farmar) contribute like they did against Denver.Although I am a big fan of Kobe Bryant and I love to see him go off for 40, 50, 60 or 81 points, it is becoming obvious that if he distributes the ball, scores 25 to 30 points and plays solid defense, the Lakers can beat anybody and I mean ANYBODY!The Lakers bench are a good indication of this as Jordan Farmar, Ronny Turiaf, Trevor Ariza and Sasha Vujacic are playing their best basketball of their career and making the Lakers one of the...

NBA Power Rankings
2007-12-11 07:10:00 Here's TSF's NBA Power Rankings as of 12/11. 1. San Antonio Spurs The Spurs have been impressive even without Tim Duncan. Manu Ginobli is looking to be the sixth man of the year as he scored 37 points twice in back to back wins over the Mavs and Jazz. The Spurs have been themselves lately, playing team basketball, winning, and holding opponents to 92.5 ppg, plus they're on a 5 game winning streak and have won 11 of their last 12.2. Boston CelticsThe Celtics have just about dominated in all of their games. It seems Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen are always on their games and even if one or two of them are off, they still have the 3rd. Also, I should mention those 3 are all in the top 35 for points in the league.3. Phoenix SunsThe Suns rank in the top 10 of the league in ppg (2), FG% (2), and spg (6). Steve Nash has been incredible once again with his 17.9 ppg and 12.3 apg. 4. Orlando Magic Dwight Howard has been a monster and good thing he's on my fantasy team; He's 1...

2007 NBA Predictions
2007-10-28 21:59:00 WestNorthwest1. Denver NuggetsA very talented team is poised to make a run at an NBA Championship. This team is ready to compete with San Antonio, Dallas, and Phoenix. Carmelo Anthony is one of the best scorers and players for that matter, in the NBA. If Marcus Camby and Kenyon Martin can stay healthy, I have a feeling they will be one of the best.2. Utah JazzDeron Williams is looking to be a great PG in this league and is surrounded with some pretty good talent. As long as Carlos Boozer stays healthy they should be a contender. But they also need more consistent play from Andrei Kirilenko.3. Portland Trail BlazersPortland is a very young team and should be playing for next year. With Greg Oden out, LaMarcus Aldridge will have to pick up the slack in the middle. Jarrett Jack is still an iffy point guard. Brandon Roy is a solid player, but I think they are another year away from being a good team.4. Seattle SupersonicsThey lost Rashard Lewis, their main scoring threat. It will be int...
