Über den Ursprung dieses indisch klingenden Gerichtes ranken sich mehrere Gerüchte. Fest steht jedoch nur: In Indien ist es unbekannt. Es handelt sich um eine Mischung aus mariniertem Hühnchen (chicken tikka) und einer würzigen Masala-Sauce. In der neuen Ausgabe des GoodFood Magazins ist ein Rezept veröffentlicht, das sich die Herren zum Mittagessen ausgesucht hatten. Ich habe mich für eine Variante im Slow Cooker entschieden. Das Hähnchenfleisch wird über Nacht mariniert, am nächsten Morgen mit ein paar weiteren Zutaten in den Slow Cooker gegeben und ca. 6 - 8 h langsam gar gekocht: Einfacher geht's wirklich nicht. Das Ergebnis unseres Chicken Tikka Masala - Marniertes Huhn mit Masala-Sauce war sehr wohlschmeckend und wärmte bei den herbstlichen Temperaturen schön durch. Das Huhn war sehr zart und würzig. Spaghetti Marinara werden dort mit Kalmarmänteln, Weißfischfilet, Muscheln und Scampi serviert. Aber laut dieser Quelle handelt es sich bei einer Marinara Sauce um eine kräftig gewürzte, italienische Tomatensauce mit Zwiebeln, Knoblauch und Oregano, die zu Pasta und Fleisch gereicht wird. Und die kann Frau wunderbar im Slow Cooker - auch auf Vorrat -zubereiten, wenn sich die jungen Herren "Nudeln mit Tomatensauce" wünschen. I haven't buy (whole) Groupa for a long time as it too big to fit into my small pan wok for cooking.
