2006-10-13 20:03:03 Odd as that may sound for a Machiavellian rationalist, I despise hypocrisy. Not for any moral reason, though, but because hypocrisy is an art few public figures are up to. As many good things, hypocrisy is counterproductive when practiced badly. I listened for some time for the PR screams about Darfur, and was recently approached to participate. I won’t. Sudan is the enemy of Egypt. Israel must strengthen Sudan which will drain Egypt in the arms race. To undermine the Sudanese government is stupid. Lies work for immediate ends, but cannot build a lasting image. Jewish organizations, led by the barons with no understanding of the mob mentality, believe they can fake compassion. They cannot. Mobs will quickly sense the lie. If you want to help Darfur, supply arms to JEM and airlift food above the Janjaweed cordons.
