Pirates-Nationals Notes
2009-05-22 13:55:00 Since I was in attendance, I thought I would share my observations from the Tuesday and Wednesday night games between the Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates. - While it would be nice for the Nationals to be successful one day, in the meantime, I'm going to enjoy the easy access to tickets. For the third time over the past two seasons, I arrived at the stadium without tickets only to have someone give me two tickets. Not sell me tickets, give me tickets. On Wednesday night's game, I was given tickets in the first row of section 100L (center field not far from where Nate McLouth made the game-saving catch). The normal ticket price is $30 per ticket and we even had someone in this section taking orders and bringing food and drink directly to our seats. - Speaking of servers, when my friend ordered a hot dog, our server told him a few minutes later that they were out of hot dogs and had to make them from scratch. The team, according to the Baltimore Sun bought out the contract of outfielder Chris Roberson from the Philadelphia Phillies for cash, and in turn, released Jeff Fiorentino who was called "Screech" because of his wild curly hair.Fiorentino was seen as nothing more as a reserve outfielder potentially for the Orioles, and struggled in the minors after seeing some time in the majors in 2005/2006.Roch Kubatko has more on yesterday's deal and remarks we still don't have a shortstop (ok, one with a bat), so we may see a combo of Brandon Fahey, Luis Hernandez or Freddie Bynum competing for playing time at the position.The Baltimore Examiner has more on the move.More stuff later!

The fight was reportedly over a woman. Police sources tell the New York Post that Diddy will be charged with assault after he allegedly punched an acquaintance of 13 years in the face at a SoHo night club over some chick. Diddy skipped a scheduled meeting with police Tuesday afternoon as his lawyer released a statement saying that he would not be arrested. At the time, Diddy was meeting with the victim at Butter nightclub to try and work things out without criminal charges being filed. (You going down bitch!!) McBean has been catching on for the Steelers? rookie defensive end out of Oklahoma State as I have received scores of hits today from people searching ?Steely McBean? on Google. Of course, there is a slight possibility people are just typing the name of the new Steelers? mascot incorrectly. I?ve thought about starting an online petition (if there isn?t one already) to stop the existence of Mr. McBeam. However, I realize that in the grand scheme of things, the addition of a new Steelers mascot, while silly and unnecessary, is not really a big deal. If the purpose of the mascot is to get the home team fired up at games, that?s not going to happen. Screech Nearly Gets His Ass Beat
2007-05-18 15:29:00 (THIS VIDEO IS NSFW!) First of all, I have not been keeping up with the show, so I don't know the over-arching context in which Screech (or Dustin Diamond...whatever) is getting read the riot act by "Celebrity Fit Club" judge, Sgt. Harvey Walden IV, nor do I know what happened right before this crazy interchange took place. However, my ignorance does little to damper the enjoyment I received at watching this furious man clearly physically capable of ripping off Screech's curly head with one arm tied behind his back, just barely being restrained from being able to do so. Even though I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that this whole thing was staged, there's something about the possibility of someone throwing a chair at another person's head that gets me every time. Also, I'm pretty sure Screech's shirt consists of an amalgamation of a series of posters I remember seeing on various male dorm walls in college.
