Lofa Tatupu - Seattle Mourns His Disappointing Decision
2008-06-01 23:10:00
Kirkland, Washington. I have been putting off writing this piece for quite sometime. I grew up in a suburb of Seattle and am an avid Seattle Seahawks fan. One of the greatest Seahawk’s draft... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]
Now Patriots Have An Ortiz Too
2008-05-17 01:00:00
The New England Patriots signed free agent wide receiver Robert Ortiz to a contract. The former San Diego State University product will add more competition at wide receiver for the team. Ortiz, who is 6-foot-1 and 191 pounds, was originally signed by the San Diego Chargers as a free agent in 2006 but was released and ...

Three players who were 2007 Broncos have moved on to other pasteurs today.  Safety Steve Cargile signed with his hometown Cleveland Browns. Cargile was a local football and basketball star in the Cleveland area before he became an undrafted free agent with Dallas and Denver.  Many suspected Cargile would sign with the Browns out of ...

2008 NFL Schedule Released - Go Hawks!
2008-04-22 04:07:00
There was once a time that the non-stop/year-round coverage of football irritated me, as I used to be a much bigger baseball and basketball fan. Basketball left me years ago and football has just become more ‘fun’ than baseball not only in the pro & college levels, but at the level that The Boy plays. ...
Steelers Gear in Seattle
2008-04-04 13:14:00
My Seattle vacation is only days away, but I have not started packing for the trip. However, after reading this article from last week, I may not bring any Steelers gear:A 24-year-old South Kitsap man ? and self-proclaimed Seattle Seahawks fan ? was arrested Sunday for allegedly spitting on the hamburger he prepared for a man wearing Pittsburgh Steelers attire, according to Kitsap County Sheriff's Office reports.Deputies said the 37-year-old man in Steelers garb took his daughters to a Mile Hill Drive fast food restaurant Saturday evening, and "began trading friendly barbs about his team and their victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL," reports said. One employee told the man that he'd "better not say that to the guy that's making your food," but the man thought it was a joke, reports said. That is, until he opened his "clamshell-style" hamburger container and discovered what he called a "loogie" on his hamburger. The 37-year-old told his daughters to stop eating, dema...
Jeb Putzier Knows What Ails the Broncos
2008-03-31 06:47:00
Former Broncos tight end Jeb Putzier appeared on Sirius NFL Radio Saturday, and to my pleasant surprise talked quite a bit about our Denver Broncos. After spending the past two years with the Houston Texans, Putzier signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks early in free agency. Undrafted in 2002, Putzier obviously ...
Seattle Seahawks Fans Still Spitting Mad At Pittsburgh
2008-03-29 07:15:00
The NFL has crowned two different Super Bowl champions since the Steelers defeated the Seahawks in Super Bowl XL but the city of Seattle still hasn’t recovered. The Hawks’ fans are pissed about the suspicious calls by the refs and the terrible play of Jerramy Stevens. Knowing this, it’s probably not a good idea to wear Steelers gear and taunt a Seattle Seahawks fan that is also cooking your food. That’s where a 37-year-old Kitsap, Washington man went wrong. He was warned about trash talking the cook but proceeded anyways. He probably thought he got the last word in until he opened his hamburger container and found a loogie. The man immediately told his daughter to stop eating, demanded a refund, and called the restaurant’s district manager. The police were called into the situation and learned that a 24-year-old restaurant employee was the culprit. The deputy went to the 24-year-old’s house, and when he knocked on the door, a voice from inside yel...
2008 NFL Mock Draft: Seattle Seahawks

The Longest Mock Draft in NFL History Continues...Hey, when I said rapid fire, I meant it.Not to get off subject, but Paul Pierce for MVP!Anyway, on with the mock draft? Pick No. 25: Seattle SeahawksThe Seattle Seahawks were an enigma to me all season long. Every time I watched them, I was less than impressed. Yet they won enough games to once again take the NFC West and even managed to eek out a playoff victory. Obviously they were a little better than I gave them credit for.Not much better, mind you (it WAS the NFC West), but certainly a little better.I?m not sure I buy Holmgren?s theory that they?re good enough to make one last Super ...

In The Red Zone: Patriots News and Notes
2008-03-06 18:00:00
According to Christopher Gasper of the Boston Globe, New England Patriots veteran wide receiver Troy Brown hasn’t made a decision yet about next season and that fans shouldn’t count out a return in 2008 quite just yet. A source close to Brown also said that a decision probably isn’t coming anytime soon either. “He feels great. He feels he can still play and still contribute,” said the source. “Obviously, he would have liked to have played more than that one game he played. I don’t think he’s decided whether he’s playing or not playing. A lot depends on what the Patriots do.” The source also said that either a Patriot return or retiring are not Brown’s only options. Brown would be willing to play elsewhere if there was no room for him here. It sure would be weird seeing Troy in a Dolphins, Jets or Browns uniform. In other Patriots news the team is looking at restricted free agent LB Adam Seward from Carolina Panthers...
Former Seahawks House Burns
2008-03-06 09:00:00
Retired NFL running back Curt Warner’s home in Camas, WA suffered severe damage in a fire on February22nd in a fire blamed on children playing with matches. The damage is estimated $300,000 to $500,000. Fire officials say there were no injuries in the two-alarm blaze and that Warner’s wife Ana got all four of their children out of the house in time. When firefighters arrived, they reported 20-foot flames roaring out of a large heat-broken upstairs window facing the street. Warner, 46, played for the Seahawks in 1983-89, mostly as a starter, and ranks high in a number of the team’s career rushing categories. He now has a Chevrolet car dealership in Vancouver, WA. Warner was a three time Pro-Bowler and four time All-Pro during his career in which he scored 56 TD’s on 6,844 rushing yards and added another 7 TD catches. The Seahawks picked Warner 3rd overall out of Penn State in the 1983 NFL Draft. The two player drafted before him are both in the Hall of Fam...
Seattle Seahawks have coach in the wings

The Seattle Seahawks will be getting a new coach after head coach, Mike Holmgren, retires next year. Jim Mora, 46, will take the Seahawks from 2009 and go further on down the road to hopefully the championships. It has been speculated by many in the group that Mora has at least a five year contract. ...

2007 NFL Playoff Predictions: Wildcard Round

I am in no place to start making new predictions since my horrible failure with the “New England Patriots thing”, but I’m a glutton for punishment. Washington vs. Seattle - The Seahawks SHOULD win, being that they’re division champs and boast a 7-1 record at home, not to mention they have more playoff experience than ...

Sunday Night Football First Half Thoughts [David Stefanini]
2007-10-15 04:37:00
A couple of words come to mind when I think about the first half of this football game. They are; Reggie Bush. I guess the Saints decided to get their offense going, they should give the ball to Reggie; it seems to be working tonight. Throughout the first few games, Reggie Bush was doing to much dancing instead of down hill running. Tonight, he is still dancing a lot, but he is being smart about it. Instead of doing it all the time, he is doing it in spots where it is beneficial to the team. The other thing is, the Saints are using him brilliantly in the passing game. They are throwing him screen passes, and check downs. This gets the ball into his hands with plenty of open space. He can then dance his way around defenders and pick up big chunks of yardage. The last thing about Reggie in the first half is how he is being smart about putting his head down and running straight. He is starting to figure out sometimes its smarter to barrel ahead and pick up 2 yards as opposed to dancing a...
Mack Strong Retires, Shaun Alexander Might As Well Follow
2007-10-09 08:49:00

The Seattle Seahawks are in a Catch 22
2007-10-06 01:30:00
We are unlucky bastards. Before the season started, we looked at the schedule, and the Saints, Bears, and Eagles all looked like tough matchups. So the Hawks are 3-1, and have now injured the opposing QB for the 2nd time in 4 weeks, facing the Steelers. If they win the game, it's a catch-22.

The Browns trade Charlie Frye to the Seattle Seahawks
2007-09-11 22:21:00
After only 20 minutes of action the Browns decided that they needed to trade quarterback Charlie Frye, and it was the Seattle Seahawks who decided to take him on for a sixth-round pick from Cleveland. Now that Frye is no longer playing for the Browns, it is though that first-round pick Brady Quinn will get ...

Washington State Liberals Flip Seattle Seahawks QB “The Bird” O
2007-09-07 20:47:00
Matt Hasslebeck and Mack Strong are finding out the hard way that being “Red” in the “Blue” State of Washington can have some severe consequences, especially if one “comes out” in the manner both men did — by showing up to a Republican fundraiser and, at President Bush’s request, annointing him an “honorary Seahawk”… From The ...

Seahawks CB Rich Gardner Released To Make Roster Space - Seattle Times
2007-07-12 20:08:00
From the Seattle Times. Hawks CB released for roster spaceBy Jose Miguel RomeroThe Seahawks moved closer to finalizing their training-camp roster Wednesday, releasing injured cornerback Rich Gardner to make room for sixth-round draft pick Courtney Taylor, whose signing was made official. The team has apparently agreed to terms with seventh-round pick Steve Vallos with contract terms unconfirmed, leaving three more picks to sign ? second-rounder Josh Wilson, third-round choice Brandon Mebane and the first of two fourth-round picks, Baraka Atkins. The Seahawks might have to release three players before camp in July to make room for the unsigned draft choices on the roster.Five former NFL Europa players are also part of the current roster and signed as free agents June 28. They are cornerback Omowale "Wally" Dada (a former Washington State player), quarterback Erik Meyer (formerly at Eastern Washington), offensive guard Jonathan Alston, running back A.J. Harris and wide receiver Robert...
Seattle Seahawks / Holmgren To Intall Offense Pre-Shift System
2007-06-18 21:20:00
"Pre-shifting", or what was called "The Multiple Offense" is being installed by Settle Seahawk's coach Mike Holmgren for the 2008 season. This was reported and buried deep in an article on the Seattle Defense, and which appears below. But in my view, the writer missed the real story. The strategy has been around since the turn of the 20th Century, but was used as a standard strategy by Dallas Cowboys Coach, the late Tom Landry during his 30-years as head coach. The idea is simply to have the offense "shirt" or move from one formation to the other before the ball is snapped. But the only West Coast / Walsh Offense team to use this until now has been the Tampa Bay Bucs under Jon Gruden. There' a balance that has to be established between shifting and reading keys after the snap.__________________________-_______________Hawks' defense eager to step up for second Super Bowl runBy CLARE FARNSWORTHP-I REPORTERKIRKLAND -- It has been a defensive offseason for the Seahawks. In th...
Seattle Seahawks Ready For Regular Season - Anja Crotts
2006-08-27 19:51:07
Well fans, preseason is halfway over and we are only a few short weeks from starting a regular season sweep. In past years, Seahawks preseason has not been indicative of the upcoming regular season. We have been known to win three out of four games, then go on to a terrible season. Last preseason we went 3-3, then went on to win the division championship, and then on to get cheated out of a Super Bowl ring. Bottom line, they are practice games after all. However, these games do show us a glimpse of what it to be seen in regular season. Hasselbeck is steady and strong and right on target, which is exactly what we want to see from our fearless leader. Alexander only had a few touches, which was expected, but we know he will be fine and will b-line for the spotlight when the regular season rolls around. We have also seen a few starters earn their spots back, such as Trufant and Herndon at cornerback, Boulware at safety along with key returner Ken Hamlin, who we are extreme...
