That all but confirmed the evolution of the worldwide G sedan into 3.7 liter form... the release this week of the 2009 G37 sedan ordering guide from Infiniti in North America confirmed it as a worldwide model upgrade. That means that in a few months the G37 sedan will be available with the more powerful 3.7 liter engine, upgraded suspension, 14"/13.8" 4 piston/2 piston front/rear brakes. In other words, same as the 2008 G37 coupe. Another standout is the replacement of ye olde 5-speed automatic with the new 7-speed automatic (and it's about time). Now, if throttle take-up and cluth engagement can be fixed... the G37 sedan would indeed be perfect.

The biggest change will be the G sedan's switch from a 3.5L V6 to a 3.7L unit. Infiniti has yet to release the new engine's output, but a forum member on Motive says the powerplant will kick out 320+ horsepower. Buyers will also have the option to route that power through a new seven-speed automatic gearbox. Along with that debut, Audi released some information on the U.S.-bound A4 — including the sedan and the wagon. The biggest news is that Audi will only offer a four-cylinder engine in the A4 Avant. That engine will be Audi's tried and true 2.0L turbocharged TFSI unit, tuned to produce 211 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque — up from the current model's 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. Despite being down a few cylinders, the A4 Avant is said to be able to make the sprint from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds.
