Renegade Soundwave - Select 12" rips
2008-05-06 16:46:00
Renegade Soundwave - Select 12" ripsc/o Mr. Ward (thanks!!!)1986 - 1990Style - Electro, Dub, ElectronicFormed in London during the late '80s, Renegade Soundwave applied the punk and industrial ethic to both dub and dancefloor electronica, in good company with fellow sound terrorists throughout the decade, from Cabaret Voltaire to Skinny Puppy and Meat Beat Manifesto. The trio of Gary Asquith, Danny Briottet and Carl Bonnie debuted on Rhythm King with the 1987 single "Kray Twins," and moved to Mute one year later for an EP, Biting My Nails. Though Renegade Soundwave spent two years recording material for an album, the release of Soundclash and In Dub within six months vindicated them somewhat. The group's only hit, "Probably a Robbery" (from Soundclash), made the British Top 40 early in 1990, but Bonnie left later that year, after releasing the single "Renegade Soundwave", for a solo career. Asquith and Briottet spent several years in isolation before emerging in 1994 with the "Ren...

Eagles Select King Dunlap With The 230th Pick
2008-04-29 09:06:00
King Dunlap is a LT from Auburn who was once considered a top prospect. He had a really bad year in 2007 mainly due to a left elbow injury he suffered early in the year. The poor season combined with some minor off the field troubles had Dunlap free fall in the draft to the 7th ...
Eagles Select Andy Studebaker With The 203rd Pick
2008-04-29 08:07:00
Andy Studebaker is an undersized defensive end, who may convert to linebacker in the NFL. He reminds me a lot of current Eagle Chris Gocong, and I think they may have him develop into a SAM linebacker to backup Gocong. Like Gocong, Studebaker played at a small school, and racked up sacks. He is a high energy ...

Eagles Select Mike Gibson With The 184th Pick
2008-04-29 03:53:00

Eagles Select Jack Ikegwuonu With The 131st Pick
2008-04-28 13:19:00
Jack Ikegwuonu is a first round talent who unfortunately for him tore his ACL prior to the combine. After this devastating injury some felt that Ikegwuonu might go undrafted, but the Eagles saw enough talent in him to take a chance in the 4th. That was the Eagles first compensatory pick(unable to trade) and I think ...

No. 20 Presented by Buc'Em Aqib Talib Cornerback Kansas Man what a mind blower... I saw WR Devin Thomas on the cell phone and had his jersey ready to go, then Goodell says Talib and it was on... I'm not going to pretend like i know these guys better than our scouts and Monte Kiffin. If Talib is the guy, obviously he's the guy.. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS, WR Jordy Nelson ate his ASS up on the football field.. Jordy Nelson is a 2nd-3rd round prospect... Just sayin'..ESPN.com's Jeremy Green on the Bucs drafting Kansas CB Aqib Talib: That 2nd Round pick has got to be OFFENSE!!! Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas, 6'2, 205 Emerged as an elite cornerback early in the season, but struggled down the stretch against bigger receivers. Has good speed and great agility. Is a talker and a vocal leader. Mature for his age. No. 83 Presented by Buc'Em Jeremy Zuttah Offensive Guard Rutgers I like the Bucs Pick, its not a pretty pick, but it provides depth on the line and we always need that. Arron Sears missed time at Guard last year and Luke Petitgout missed the entire year at Tackle. Zuttah can play both positions and helped Rutgers RB Ray Rice achieve the individual success he has...Checkout the Hog Mollie below... Are you kidding me!?!I would have liked a Defensive Tackle here, but you cant really argue with adding depth to the offensive line. Especially when you do it with a guy who's as durable as Zuttah. "I'm very physically mature but I'm only 21-years old," Zuttah said. "I'm strong, I'm fast, I think I'm physically ready. It's just how fast I can learn the system. That's also one of my strengths, my intelligence, so I can learn it quickly. I guess the speed of the game will be different, too." - Rick Stroud of the St. Pete Times Jeremy Zuttah, OT, Rutgers, 6'4, 290 A very experi...

No. 115 Presented by Buc'Em Dre Moore Defensive Tackle Maryland Apparently the Bucs traded their two 5th Round Picks (145 & 158) to the Cowboys for their 5th Round Pick (153) and 6th Round Pick (175)... And of course they swapped 4th Round Picks straight up. Should be interesting as DT Red Bryant just went off the board and we shall see him when we play the Seahawks.Again, its hard to question Monte Kiffin. I was hoping to see them pick up a Red Bryant type as he seems to have more fight in him, but Dre Moore is certainly capable of contributing on the lineDre Moore, DT, Maryland, 6'4, 311 Moore is a quick and powerful defensive tackle who could play inside in a 4-3 or end in a 3-4. Is raw in his development and will likely have to start out in a rotation before transitioning into a starter?s role. Will have to get much nastier. - New Era Scouting

2008-04-28 01:31:00
No. 160 Presented by Buc'Em Josh Johnson Quarterback San Diego We all knew this was going to happen. Some more than others. Gruden can't resist it and Allen cant hold him back apparently. I actually like Johnson, love his mobility, and think he fits into Gruden's offense... This instantly marks the END to Chris Simms and Bruce Gradkowski's careers as Buccaneers. I'm sad to see the door close on Simms, as I think with a good line, he can be a very serviceable QB. As for Bruce, don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you... Way to go Ghosthippo on calling this pick early in the off-season... Josh Johnson, QB, San Diego, 6'3, 195 Prolific passer with good mobility and phenomenal arm strength. Very quick release. Gets through his progressions well. Smart. Makes very few mistakes with the ball. Almost never throws an interception. Playing against D-II competition. - New Era Scouting

No. 175 Presented by Buc'Em Geno Hayes Linebacker Florida State This pick is tough for me. As an avid Florida State Fan (you guys know this), I tend to hold our players in a higher light. Like a father does with his kids. With Geno early on in his career he was a great competitor, often playing above his abilities. He really took a step back his junior season. Alot of games he faded into the back ground. He had off the field issues (an altercation at a local bar with a cop, who hasnt?). Going into the Florida game, Geno went on the record saying he was ready to punish QB Tim Tebow and the Gators. The outcome? He finished the game with 1 tackle.. I'm not sure about this pick. Either Geno makes the team or he doesnt.. There's no in between with this guy.. No. 238 Presented by Buc'Em Cory Boyd Runningback South Carolina Mr. Irrelevant for the Bucs 2008 NFL Draft ends up being South Carolina's RB Cory Boyd. Why the Bucs drafted him, I DONT KNOW.. If Kenneth Darby from last season couldnt crack the line-up, nor will Mr. Boyd. Welcome to the team though.. Corey Boyd, RB, South Carolina, 6'1, 214 Nice size, speed combination. Runs hard and will break a lot of tackles. Doesn?t have a lot of burst to the outside. Has a frame to get even bigger. Average receiver. Questionable heart and ability to take pressure from coaches. Disappointed as a senior. - New Era Scouting

2008 NFL Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars Select Running Back Chauncey Washingto
2008-04-27 23:26:00
With the Jaguars final pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected USC Running Back Chauncey Washington.  Jack Del Rio must feel bad for all the UCLA players he's selected early in previous drafts, so he'll make up for it by taking some depth players late.  Chauncey was part of a fleet of running backs used by USC in the post-Bush era.  In 31 games he started 15 of them, with over 1700 yards, 19 touchdowns, and a 4.8 yards per carry average.  He's a classic "north-south" runner that can get first downs and critical yardage. Jacksonville needs to start thinking about what happens at Running Back after Fred Taylor.  Because of the Derrick Harvey trade, they did not have the third round picks to go after someone like Kevin Smith.  Chauncey, as far as I know, is not the future starting running back, rather he'll be a role guy to build and develop.  While I'm not going to completely hate on the guy, he's described as someo...

2008 NFL Draft -- Broncos Select C, Korey Lichtensteiger
2008-04-27 22:49:00
I didn't see this coming but I definitely love this pick. This is another nasty Olineman with good instincts and versatility, and what really excites me is what he can bring to Denver's running game down the line:  as a guard he had 184 knockdowns, 27 resulting in TDs.  That's what I'm talking about. When you factor in his effortless move to center, where he graded the highest among NCAA centers for his blocking (92 knockdowns in first year, 10 for TDs), you can understand why he was the highest ranked center going into 2007, but that leads you to ask:  Why didn't he stay at the top? He began 2007 by recording 96 knockdowns, and 16 were for TDs, and he did this through only nine games.  He also added 6 other knockdowns that resulted in big plays (over 25 yards) and gave up only 1 sack through that time period.  But unbeknownst to him he was playing through pain that would ultimately prove to be a torn labrum, which was repaired via arthroscopic surgery,...

For the 13th pick in the 5th round, the Broncos select DT Carlton Powell
2008-04-27 20:26:00
A 6′3″ 300 pounder out of Virginia Tech, Carlton is a run-stopper who was projected for late 4th round; so at the middle of the 5th round, we may have gotten great value here. He needs to work on his technique and he is a mediocre, at best, pass-rusher so he is the sort who ...
Bills Select LB Bowen in Round 5 of NFL Draft
2008-04-27 20:15:00
Bowen brings depth to a LB corps that needs it (Photo Source) With the 147th overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills have selected Iowa State linebacker Alvin "Ace" Bowen. The Bills entered this draft with a need for more depth at linebacker after losing special teams aces Mario Haggan and Josh Stamer in free agency (Haggan was suspended as well).  Enter Bowen, an undersized but aggressive linebacker that plays the game hard and can deliver a big hit.  He immediately becomes a favorite to be a "starter" on the team's kick coverage units based on his hard-hitting nature alone. Measuring in at 6'1", 223 pounds and timed at 4.75 seconds in the 40 yard dash, Bowen is an explosive athlete that is known for his sideline-to-sideline range and plays faster than he times.  He is, once again, a typical Dick Jauron player - high character, blue-collar worker with a non-stop motor and the ability to help the team out in more than one way.  Again, he's a...

Bills Select DE Ellis in Third Round of NFL Draft
2008-04-27 16:29:00
Ellis figures in as #4 DE as rookie (Photo Source) With the seventy-second overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills have selected Virginia tech defensive end Chris Ellis. After spending the early part of their free agency period upgrading the interior of their defensive line with the additions of tackles Marcus Stroud and Spencer Johnson, the Bills have added another piece to their defensive line in the form of Ellis, whose strength is as a speed rusher.  Ellis immediately becomes the #4 defensive end for the Bills, effectively replacing Anthony Hargrove, an unrestricted free agent who stood no chance of being re-signed by the Bills after failing a drug test, leading to another suspension. Ellis measures up at 6'4" and 263 pounds, and ran a 4.71-second 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine.  That 4.71 speed will serve him well as a rookie, and he has the frame to get bigger.  That likely won't happen in Buffalo, where smaller ends are preferred, but his ...

2008 NFL Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars select Quentin Groves
2008-04-27 04:42:00
There he is, Quentin Groves, the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 52nd overall pick.  The Jaguars traded a fifth round pick from the 2008 draft and a 2009 7th round pick to move up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Quentin Groves, as I previewed here, is a pass rushing defensive end/outside linebacker hybrid known for his speed on the edge. Jacksonville, in two picks, as made Peyton Manning, Matt Schaub and Vince Young soil themselves as the team who could not bring the heat now as two of the top pass rushers in the draft are now in the Teal and Black.  Sure, it was expensive to get the two of them.  The Jaguars now have two 5th round picks to round out their draft.  While I don't think the move reeks of desperation, the Jaguars must believe that these two players will be home runs.  If any team learned from the New York Giants, it's the Jaguars who can now field a diverse range of defensive linemen, the scrappy Derek Landri, the monster of John Henderson,...
Eagles Select Trevor Laws With The 47th Pick

I love this pick. The Eagles do have a big need at DT. The starters are very good, but they have nothing after Patterson, and Bunkley. The Denver Broncos have made their second selection in the 2008 NFL Draft. With the 11th pick in the 2nd round (42nd overall), Denver selected wide receiver Eddie Royal out of Virginia Tech. At 5′10″, 182 lbs., Royal is as small as they come in the NFL, yet he posted some of the ...

Just sayin'.. ESPN.com's Jeremy Green on the Bucs drafting Kansas CB Aqib Talib: That 2nd Round pick has got to be OFFENSE!!! Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas, 6'2, 205 Emerged as an elite cornerback early in the season, but struggled down the stretch against bigger receivers. Has good speed and great agility. Is a talker and a vocal leader. Mature for his age. Needs work in man coverage. - New Era Scouting CB Aqib Talib :: 1st-to-Early 2nd Talib is the cream of this Kansas crop of draftees, having o...

Denver Broncos select Ryan Clady, OT
2008-04-26 23:03:00
Clady is used to uphill battles. Whether he faces more of a battle trying to win over a town desperate for playmakers in the draft, or in trying to secure a starting spot agains incumbent Tackles Ryan Harris and Erik Pears, remains to be seen. But Denver fans should know, that Oline picks don't come any more exciting than this. Clady has to be the most athletically gifted offensive lineman to come out of the draft in the past 5 years.  Want to talk about ceilings?  For Clady there is no ceiling:  the sky is the limit.  Much ado can be made about his football smarts, but one only has to see the series of games he strung together towards the end of 2007 to know that he CAN dominate:  over the course of three games he allowed 0 stats of any kind to opposing lineman.  You see, he doesn't take kindly to being told he can't get it done. Clady brings an impressive football resume from Boise, including being a fulltime starter in a zoneblock system, 122 knoc...
Broncos Select Ryan Clady 12th Overall
2008-04-26 22:29:00
The Denver Broncos have made their choice - Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State. I argued yesterday that he was a player worthy of trading up to draft. In the end the Broncos did not need to. He fell to the Broncos at 12, and I couldn’t be happier! Keep up with us in ...
2008 NFL Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars select Derrick Harvey
2008-04-26 22:25:00
In what can only be described as a huge turn of events, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected University of Florida Defensive End Derrick Harvey.  The Jaguars traded their 1st, two 3rd, and a 4th rounder to trade with the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore needed to go backwards in order to find a quarterback after the Atlanta Falcons selected Matt Ryan with the 3rd pick. One word Wow. I had no idea this was coming. None whatsoever.  The Jaguars, in my opinion, did not have the picks to move up any higher than 17.  Were it not for Matt Ryan going to Atlanta, this series of events would never happen. Matt Miller of New Era Scouting gives this analysis: Harvey was the best defensive end in football during the 2006 season. He wasn't as amazing in 2007, having lost three fellow starters on the line. He's a hard charging rush end, but has strength to stand up against the run. He was our #15 player, but has the potential to be an immediate impact Pro Bowl type pass rusher. ...
