Jag behöver semester...
2008-05-31 18:12:00 Nu börjar ångesten över arbetspasset att krypa på. Jag borde ha gift mig rikt istället. Då hade kvällen sett annorlunda ut, men nu är det ju inte så och på en riktigt fet semester ska jag, så det är bara jobba på. Resan ska vara over the top! Det värsta är att jag just nu är inne i en "jag-älskar-Sverige"- period. Så denna "over the top" semester skulle kunnna äga rum i Sverige faktiskt.

2008-01-27 21:31:00 My new semester has just started a few days back. I did my International Financial Management course today and it seemed quite interesting but also scary. All those call and put options will require quite some time for me to understand. Another finance related course that I picked for this semester is Investment Theory. I am really looking forward to this course as I have recently started to invest in the Stock Market. I hope to get some good tips during the course which will help me reap some $$$. Other than these two I have two other courses, Applied Mathematics-II and Special Topics in Economics (the special topic being Globalization). The course instructor for this course on Globalization is one of the former students of Joseph Stiglitz, the Nobel Prize winner in economics. If my predictions are not wrong then this semester is going to be a real pain in the ass. I just pray that I can manage to get enough time for blogging with which I am deeply in love.

This is the hardest semester so far...

Even last term with three courses and a full-time job, a house, husband and two cats to care for, I managed it. This term, I seem to be in the books all the time, even at work, with never enough time to keep just a chapter ahead. I've got my time managed, I keep the schedule over my desk in my home office where I can see it. DH works with me to help out. And still I cannot manage to catch up. Memorizing formulas consumes half my time while the other half is taken up by a ton of reading and writing assignments.What am I going to do?

I?m a little bit worn out and I?ll probably sleep like a baby tonight but I have some studying to do first. The most memorable task I performed today was really just setting up the Vest and administering a MDI with a spacer: not too difficult but I have to start somewhere. I?ve never met a cystic fibrosis person before today. There were two: one was in horrible shape and the other one was just fine. The boy in bad shape couldn?t handle the Vest. The girl needed the Vest tid (three times per day) and had much better breath sounds. I?m still having a little trouble with breath sounds. I get distracted too easily and there are too many sounds. I haven't adjusted my ears to filter out the crying yet. We suctioned a lot of patients today and my task was just to hold the kids. Surprisingly, most of the moms were friendly. 2008-01-07 23:19:00 Today consisted of three classes and a lab. The classes were all introductions to the course and syllabus. The pulmonary function testing lab was interesting. We tested each other using spirometers the size of a television set. Seriously, these things were huge. A spirometer measures the amount of air moved in and out of the lungs. We determined our slow vital capacity, forced vital capacity, and mandatory maximum voluntary ventilation. For SVC, hit the slow button at the beginning of the test. Instruct the patient to ?breathe in and out normally for a few breaths then take a slow, big breath as deep as possible. Then breathe everything out smoothly/slowly as long as possible. ? For FVC, you pretty much do the same thing as SVC except hit the fast button during max inspiration and tell the patient ?to blow out as fast and as much as possible.? Overheard in ConLaw: "Don't worry about the other random shit in your case book" -- Professor.3. Crazy Colorado kid is in my IP Law and Policy class. He's already started sucking up to the professor.4. Every single professor so far has discussed "You shouldn't use laptops, take notes instead."5. Closing arguments competition information was released late, so now we only have 13 days to prepare.6. Everyone had a more interesting break than I did. My break was amazingly fun in its own way, but I didn't go out of the country, or to any special events.7. My property professor does a Howard Dean kind of yell when he gets excited. It's really fun, and I think I'm going to video tape him in class and podcast it here.8. My ConLaw professor is a Battlestar Galactica fan, and will frequently say "Frak" and "Gods". I approve.
