Muslim Seminary Rejects Violence
2008-06-02 09:22:00 A Muslim seminary in India, which allegedly inspired the creation of the Taliban, issued a fatwa against terrorism and insisted Islame is a religion based on peace, not war. The 150 yar-old Darul Uloom Deoband issued an edict which said: “Islam rejects all kinds of unjust violence, breach of peace, bloodshed, murder and plunder and ...
I?m going to seminary (kind of)
2008-05-15 06:33:00 Well folks, I’m going to seminary. Or, rather, a seminary course is coming to me, thanks to the interweb. I’ve been accepted into the TH434: Readings in Postmodern Philosophy/Theology online course at Northern Seminary, which I heard about via Emergent Village. The class is led by David Fitch and Jeff Holsclaw, and it runs from June ...

Upon Entering Seminary (What I Want to Say When I Come Out)
2008-05-13 03:07:00 I officially graduated from Seminary on Saturday (even though I didn’t go to the ceremony, I still count it as my graduation day). About three years ago before entering Seminary, I wrote what I wanted to be able to say when I came out. I haven’t looked at it in three years, and only last week did I remember that I wrote it. So I searched through my files and found what I had written. At the time, I was a pastor in a church in Montana. I loved the people, I loved the church, I loved the area, I loved what I was doing. Nevertheless, I felt God leading me to seminary. I was terrified to go, but I went anyway. Here is what I wrote: On Entering Seminary (What I want to say when I come out) I am thankful for my seminary degree, but I am not glad I have it. It shows a compromise with worldly standards that are not necessarily God’s. It is what man wants of a pastor. God doesn’t really care. Letters and degrees and accolades mean nothing to Him. The Lord looks ...
A Tour of Christ Chapel
2008-05-04 14:17:00 I suppose the part of seminary life I will miss most is the worship at Christ Chapel. This is a beautiful sanctuary, and the sights and sounds of the worshipping community are often overwhelming. If you are ever in the Columbia, South Carolina area on a Thursday evening, be sure to take time to visit LTSS ...

2008-05-03 22:09:00 My friends and classmates Ray and Ruth Ann posted this to their blog. It is a little video made by some classmates that they posted on Youtube to lighten things up a bit. It is kind of funny, but there is also a lot of truth here as well. The thing to remember, however, is ...

In the beginning was the Word?
2008-04-22 12:17:00 This is how the seminary experience begins for most Lutherans who hope to one day become ordained ministers. Although the method and curriculum for learning New Testament Greek may vary from one seminary to another, Greek proficiency is a requirement for ordination, and the first academic hurdle that must be cleared. In this instance, the ...

About the Jewish Seminary school shooting
2008-03-07 23:50:00 I did not write anything about it yesterday because I did not have enough information , but today it is more clearer to me. To be honest I was surprised to know that the Hezbollah's channel Al Manar declared that the Militia of Emad Mughniyeh is responsible for the shooting . The surprise came from the fact that the Jewish Seminary school is in the west Bank of Jerusalem, if Hezbollah was behind that operation then it reached to the heart of Israel. To be honest I do not like nor welcome this sort of operations that targets religious civilians people even if they were radical Jews who want to kill all Muslims and blow up our holy mosques to the build their temple , it is prohibited in Islam to kill a religious holyman , also this sort of operation will give the Zionist media in the world a golden opportunity to stick the "terrorism" label on Hezbollah. It is stupidity from Hezbollah to sponsor this operation because they are a resistance group attacking Military Israeli targets ,...

Massacre at Jerusalem Seminary - 8 Young Teens Dead, 9 Wounded - Celebratio
2008-03-07 02:23:00 Chalk another murderous act up for those peace seeking Palestinians. A “gunman”, as the AP describes the murderous prick, walked into the library at the Mercaz Harav seminary and fired on 80 students with an AK-47 rifle for several minutes before he was finally shot dead by an off duty Israeli Army officer. But two minutes was all it took for the terrorist to fire off about 500 rounds, killing eight students and seriously wounding nine others. Eight people have been killed and nine wounded by a Palestinian gunman who infiltrated a Jewish seminary in West Jerusalem, Israeli officials say. Witnesses said the gunman went into a crowded hall during dinner at the Mercaz Harav seminary in the city’s Kiryat Moshe quarter and opened fire. [~snip] Another man told the BBC that there had been “terrible scenes” inside the building afterwards. “The terrorists were shooting on us. We all hid under the cars,” he said. “When we got in… we ...

Shooter Kills 7 At Israeli Seminary And A Bomb In Times Square
2008-03-06 23:48:00 Gunman Kills 7 At Israeli SeminaryCoincidentally (or not) there was a bomb that exploded in Times Square early this morning.I find these two events too coincidental not to relate them. Also, since the bombing, the peace talks bewtween Israel and Palestine have ceased. I nearly cried when I saw the story. I don't know why, I just have a special place in my heart for Israel and Palestine. They both have done unspeakable things to the other's people. I don't have much hope for seeing peace there in my lifetime, but I still get sad for all the people who have died and all of the violence that has happened there.
