After she was ejected, she was then struck by a Toyota Corolla driven by Glenn Ibarra, 33, who was not charged in the accident. The motorcycle driver, David Barry, was not hurt initially. Calderon simply fell from the back of the bike. Barry then pulled to the side of the road and attempted to walk onto the highway toward Calderon's body when he was struck by a Lexus driven by 20-year old Xiaochen Ji. Ji then lost control of his car and struck a Ford Mustang driven by Sergio Moreno. Xiaochen Ji was arrested on the scene for a felony DUI charge. 2007-09-11 20:23:00 I wavered over whether or not to post about this. But, I'm going for it...9/11 was a especially surreal for me. I was attending university in Canada at the time, and had my int'l law class that day. The professor was outright giddy about the day's events. I will try to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he was merely happy to have some current events material to use for the purposes of the class (he talked about the int'l legal ramifications of the situation, and that was useful). But his demeanor still struck me as completely inappropriate. Of course, I was probably the only American in the room. So, with great caution (and at the risk of being seriously misunderstood), I propose that we do something really radical to remember 9/11. I propose that we pray for our enemies. 2007-09-11 12:30:00 Today is a somber day, and very eerie because it falls on a Tuesday, just as it did six years ago. For the people who lost their lives, way too many of them, and their families and loved ones, my heart goes out to you and my prayers of peace and happiness are shouting from my soul, my inner being. And I grieve. I always will until my dying day.So, my readers, never forget, and say a prayer today for the souls lost and for the ones whose lives were devastated by the cruel and cowardly and descipible act those six years ago.
