Umm? Those Lines Weren?t Cherry-Picked - Wright?s Whole Sermon Was Hateful
2008-04-27 04:03:00
Gateway Pundit Moyers was able to accidentally do us all a favor and settle the “Wright’s hateful words were cherry-picked” argument. They weren’t. (pictured is damage inflicted on Obama campaign) Moyers aired the whole America-hating sermon of Wright G-damning America. The whole rant was hateful, bitter, looney, and raging. If you’re not ready for some of the most insidious ...
Barack Obama’s Pastor Attempts To Justify His Sermon G*d Damning Amer
2008-04-26 16:36:00
Jeremiah Wright, in all his omniscience, appeared on Bill Moyers' PBS Show Friday evening April 25 and tried to justify his sermon God damning America. No matter how Wright tries to frame the reasoning for the sermon (from 2003) he falls on his face. Moyers softball interview didn't help Obama's campaign either. It ...

Video: Another ?peaceful? Hamas Friday sermon
2008-04-13 20:36:00
On Friday, April 11th, Hamas Cleric Yunis Al-Astal had some encouraging words for his people: “We will conquer Rome, and from there continue to conquer the two Americas and Eastern Europe.” Carl in Jerusalem adds this: But give them a state reichlet in Judea, Samaria and Gaza the entire State of Israel from the Jordan River to the ...
Martin Luther King Jr.'s last undelivered sermon: "Why America May Go to He
2008-04-09 21:15:00
On Thursday, April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. had retreated to room 306 of the Lorraine Motel, worrying about a sanitation strike in Memphis and working on his sermon for Sunday. Its title: "Why America May Go to Hell." For King, whose focus had shifted from civil rights to antiwar agitation and populist economics, the Dream was turning dark. He had been depressed, sleeping little and suffering from migraines. In Washington, his plans for a massive Poor People's Campaign were in disarray. In Memphis, King's first march with striking garbage men had degenerated into riot when young black radicals--not, as in the glory days, angry state troopers--broke King's nonviolent ranks. By 5 p.m. he was hungry and looked forward to a soul-food supper. Always fastidious-a prince of the church--King shaved, splashed on cologne and stepped onto the balcony. He paused; a .30-06 rifle shot slammed King back against the wall, his arms stretched out to his sides as if he were bein...

T.I. Gives Sermon In Front of 30,000 at Georgia Dome
2008-03-24 16:03:00
We are getting word that rapper, T.I. attended Resurrection Day Service at the Georgia Dome, which was hosted by Bishop Eddie Long and New Birth Baptist Church! Not only was Tip accompanied by his lawyer, but he also gave a short sermon in front of the 30,000 in attendance. Here's what he said:?We?re here to celebrate the death of our Lord and Savior. He was willing to give his life for us so that we may ask for forgiveness for our sins and be forgiven and saved?no matter how many times we have to ask?or how long it takes to get it right.?SHAMELESS HYPE OPINION:Has Tip found Jesus?? It appears that he has. Can you imagine going to church with 30,000 people? There are cities with populations smaller than that!
Jeremiah Wright?s 9/11 Sermon ?In Context?
2008-03-22 17:39:00
Note: This is the sixth post in a continuing series concerning the fateful decision of Brite Divinity School to honor the Rev. Jeremiah Wright on March 29th. For background read (1) Brite Divinity School to Honor Rev. Jeremiah Wright, (2) Brite Divinity School Jeremiah Wright Update, (3) Brite, Jeremiah Wright, and the Out of Context Card, (4) The Brite-Jeremiah Wright Debate Continues, and (5) Brite Divinity School Accused of Violating Its Own CovenantWright's defenders keep shooting themselves in the feet! An anonymous person provided a link to the "so-called" full text, "IN Context," of Jeremiah Wright's 9/11 speech. I write "so-called" because a less than ten minute Sunday sermon is rather short - especially in a Black church, and in the sermon Wright tells his congregation that God has told him three things to do in response to 9/11, but he never get's past the first thing in this sermon. The video stops rather suddenly.I'm including the YouTube video here and following tha...
A New Look At The Widow Who Gave All She Had To The Temple Fund
2008-03-22 15:33:00
Luke 21:1-4 is often cited from church pulpits to exhort us to give willingly and in some cases, all, to ministry, a church building fund or some other project that the church is undertaking. Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in ...

Here is a YouTube video of Malaysiakini, an independant news web site on Malaysian politics. ?How to pray? - my first sermon outline ever
2008-03-03 04:04:00
Last Wednesday I had the opportunity to deliver a sermon(ette) at one of St. Mark's Lenten services. We've been talking about prayer as a congregation, so every Wednesday's sermon has related to prayer in some way or another. I was asked to speak on "How to pray" and I had a great time going through ...
Sermon Jams
2008-02-27 20:51:00
Sorry the blog has once again been slightly dead, I have wanted to post the following post for the past couple of days but my computer has been off line since Saturday. In our house I have a wireless network set up so you can view the shared files and access the internet anywhere in the house. Unfortunately my section of the network was down since one of the routers died so today was the first day since Saturday that I finally was able to patch myself back in.I have mentioned this before but I am always on the lookout for new music, recently as I was wondering around online I came across this site called 10:31 Sermon Jams. The music on the site is composed of little mini clips from Christian leaders (mainly John Piper and Joshua Harris) that has been set to a beat. All the mixes are very well done but I think volume 4 is the best. You can check them out at their site here and you can actually listen to and download all their songs for free from their site. Just a warning the music...
Make War! (Otherwise Titled "Beat Up That Sermon")
2008-02-21 13:27:00
John Piper’s exhortation to constantly make all-out war against temptations that we face, our pride, our fleshly cravings and all-enslaving desires in the sermon featured below definitely spoke to me. Yes, I am guilty of murmuring and murmuring “oh, how I wish to be free of this” and not do anything concrete about it, much less ...
Notable Sermon Awards
2008-02-17 10:26:00
In my time of attending church, college chapels, and now listening to preacher’s online and through podcast, I’ve heard quite a few sermons. Many of them blend together, sometimes taking small nuggets of wisdom or simple encouragement, but a few stick out in my mind as having had a notable impact on my life. I’m ...
Sermon for the 1st Sunday in Lent
2008-02-11 15:14:00
Yesterday I had a wonderful opportunity to serve as pulpit supply for a congregation that is currently without a pastor.  I have done this before, but this is the first time at such a church in my senior year of seminary.  This visit had nothing to do with a call process, they simply needed someone ...
Sharing The Gospel With Your Children
2008-02-06 17:46:00
Yes, yes, I know the fact that I don’t have any children doesn’t escape you, so what am I doing talking about sharing the Gospel with one’s child(ren)? The upside is that it’s not me that’s doing the teaching, but a pastor, Emeal Zwayne, whom I think did such a great job of sharing it with ...
Humor jokes-Church Sermon
2008-02-04 19:15:00
There was this lady who was visiting a church one Sunday. The sermon seemed to go on forever, and many in the congregation fell asleep. After the service, to be social, she walked up to a very sleepy looking gentleman, extended her hand in greeting, and said, "Hello, I'm Gladys Dunn."And the gentleman replied, "You're not the only one ma'am, I'm glad it's done too!!!"

A Christmas Sermon
2008-01-02 09:17:00
?The good part of Christmas is not always Christian–it is generally Pagan; that is to say, human, natural. Christianity did not come with tidings of great joy, but with a message of eternal grief. It came with the threat of everlasting torture on its lips. It meant war on earth and perdition hereafter. It taught some good ...

A “Highly Confident” Friday Sermon from Iran
2007-12-21 18:34:00
James S. Robbins wrote yesterday at NRO: “The NIE has presented Iran with a major strategic opportunity. Iran’s best move at this point is to open some form of dialogue with the United States. Promote the idea that the “grand bargain” to settle the major issues of the region is possible, play into that instinct on our side. This will serve as a useful shield against attack by third parties, because if negotiations are afoot, we will strongly discourage any other country from taking military action. Keep the talks going for as long as possible. Periodically hint at breakthroughs, settle some minor issues, feed the vanity of diplomacy. Meanwhile move out vigorously on developing a nuclear-weapons capability. When the time comes to test the weapon, foment some kind of small crisis, break off talks (though not too belligerently), conduct the test, and blame the United States for making it necessary. Then call for a new round of talks, particularly about limiting nuclear pro...
Christian, You Need To Listen To This!
2007-12-20 10:01:00
Have about 45 minutes or so? If not, try setting aside that time, sit down with your family and friends who are also Christian and listen to this by Paul David Washer. This will change the reflected image of yourself in the mirror as it did mine. And this is not only true in the United States ...
What Makes a Good Sermon?
2007-12-18 09:16:00
This was a question posed on a Facebook group that got me thinking. Here are some of my thoughts. I appreciate a specific and targeted topic with all the stories, quotes, and whatnot able to be hung on that. I’ve heard the other type of sermon, where the disparity of the anecdotes, jokes and scriptures leave ...

Hysterical Sermon Blunder!
2007-12-02 00:28:00
This video has been around for a while, but it is worth repeating here.  It is timely for me this week because I brought the message Sunday and made a minor blunder by mixing up the names of some of people in the congregation.  I'm glad I didn't mess up as badly as this youth pastor! If...
M.L King?s Sermon ?Unfulfilled Dreams?
2007-11-26 05:20:00
Of all Martin Luther King’s sermons, the one I’ve found the most instructive is “Unfulfilled Dreams.” It offers solid perspective on the disappointments we all face in life. Unfulfilled Dreams is the title given to the sermon in the excellent audio collection of King’s speeches called “A Knock At Midnight.” I’d suggest purchase of this collection to anybody. Play these sermons in ...
Really funny jokes-Temperance sermon
2007-11-22 11:47:00
A minister was completing a Temperance sermon. With great emphasis he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."And then finally, shaking his fist in the air, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."Sermon complete, he sat down. The song leader stood very cautiously and announced - with a tiny smile, "For our closing song, Let us sing Hymn #365, 'Shall We Gather at the River'
The Last Sermon of Prof. Muhammed
2007-11-15 17:28:00
The Farewell Pilgrimage of the Prophet Muhammed (p.b.u.h.) was a significant historical event in the Muslims life. Although thousands of Muslims witnessed the Farewell (last) Sermon given by the Prophet Muhammed (p.b.u.h.), the Hadiths books reported at least three versions of the same Sermon. For an event witnessed by over 10,000 people an accurate narration ...

Amazing sermon
2007-11-11 03:41:00
This sermon has change my life, I hope it can do the same for you. Be warned it is very bold and piercing but that is good, sometimes we need to be shaken up. And it is also very true.and let me know because I understand that it's very long if you would like me to post it in smaller video clips over a couple day period.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY SERMON I'LL SMASH YOU
2007-10-13 15:17:00
It's been the video game Halo that has been getting all the news of late. Churches are being called out for using violent video games, such as the popular game Halo, to attract teens to youth events. The New York Times wrote a piece recently called "Thou Shalt Not Kill, Except In Church?" If you'd like to read a good article on this subject, my friend Brandon wrote a great piece on this subject.BUT ... while that may be the popular video game news right now, I think we're missing out on an even better video game called "Altar Egos - Rumble in the Pew." The game hasn't been released yet, but I'm thinking I want the first copy. The video game is set in a church where people can clobber each other with songbooks and other church items. You seek out the person you're annoyed with and whack them. It is truly a "rumble in the pew."Can you imagine ... if someone says, "Your sermon stunk," I can smack them with a microphone stand. Or, I can tell the song leader, "Oh yeah? Well your so...
Short but sweet sermon.....
2007-10-07 04:04:00
One Sunday morning a usually long-winded pastor gave his shortest, but one of his most effective sermons ever. He said, "My sermon this morning has only three points. First, over three million people in the world today are homeless and many are starving. Second, most of you don't give a damn. And third, it is a shame that more of you are upset by the fact that I said the word, 'damn', than by the fact that over three-million people are homeless and starving."HT - Powerhouse Ministries

SERMON SERIES ON THE FAMILY
2007-09-30 01:47:00
I just wanted to share with you some of the things I'm teaching right now. I love teaching on marriage and family when it comes to sermons and bible classes. Right now my Childress family is getting a double dose. In my Young Adult class I've been teaching on marriage and family issues for the past month. Our class has nearly doubled in size over the last two months, which tells me that the issues we're covering are important. Here are the topics we've been covering in class ...Ingredients of a Healthy Family7 Things Wive's Need from their Husbands7 Things Husband's Need from their WivesWhat are His Needs & What are Her NeedsRed Hot Monogamy (Making your Love-Life Sizzle)Making Godly KidsThings That will Ruin Your Marriage Besides the class, I'm pumped about starting a new sermon series this Sunday that will go for the next five weeks. Sermon - The Great Chasm
2007-09-29 20:33:00
(Note: My sermon ended up being a lot different from the outline, although I think it keeps the same overall message. My newsletter article will pick up a lot of the topics my sermon discarded.)Luke 16:19-31There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who longed to satisfy his hunger with what fell from the rich man’s table; even the dogs would come and lick his sores. The poor man died and was carried away by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was being tormented, he looked up and saw Abraham far away with Lazarus by his side. He called out, “Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in agony in these flames.” But Abraham said, “Child, remember that during your lifetime you received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner...
HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF A SERMON
2007-09-28 08:15:00
Sometimes when we find ourselves bored or distracted through the sermon, or we feel like the messages aren’t impacting our lives, our natural tendency is to blame ... yes, you guessed it ... the preacher. But I’ve noticed that sometimes the problem is not so much with the preacher as it is with the hearer. If we’re not benefiting from the preaching, the fault may not always lie with the one doing the preaching. It may lie in our readiness to hear, to receive, and to respond to God's Word. The fact is that two people can listen to the very same message, and one can be bored and unmoved, and the other can be convicted and his life is transformed. Years ago after a sermon I preached on prayer I had a man tell me, "That one really didn't do it for me." I wasn't sure what he meant, but I knew it wasn't a compliment. Exactly two minutes later, a woman came to me in tears thanking me for the powerful sermon. She told me, "It was exactly what I needed in my life today." What made t...
The Great Chasm - Sermon Outline
2007-09-26 20:44:00
Now it is time to assemble the three pieces I have researched (Radiohead’s video for the song “Just”; the story of the rich man and Lazarus from Luke 16; and Chapters 2 and 6 of Niebuhr’s “Christ and Culture.”) Today, we will focus on an outline for the sermon.I. The Culture of ConsumptionA. Consumerism has permeated every aspect of modern life - it is the air we breathe.B. This consumerism has led us down the path of idolatry and injustice. (the “Great Chasm” - between rich and poor; and between the way we live and the way God wants us to live)C. Cannot escape consumer culture - description of what I consume in a single day - and the ripple effect this consumption has around the world)II. The Temptation to WithdrawA. Reference to Tolstoy from Niebuhr, Ch.2 - noble attempt to withdrawB. Rich man in Luke 16 - un-noble attempt to withdraw - he himself creates the Great Chasm keeps him from being with God in eternal lifeC. Complete withdrawal is impossible, but so is cr...
Friday Sermon from Iran
2007-09-21 18:19:00
“Finally, I note that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been invited to speak at Columbia University. Have they at last agreed to include a moderate voice in their Middle East Studies department?” - Jay NordlingerTehran's substitute Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami covered the love in today in the city. As is always the case politics is religion when ruled under the guise of a “religion of peace,” especially in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Khatami quoted IAEA Director el Baradei as insisting the Iran “issue” stay with the IAEA, but of course the U.S. is causing problems: "We tell the world that this is the best evidence showing that the US is not for resolving Iran's nuclear problem but is trying to cause tension while Iran is seeking detention." Not surprising that both Iran and the U.S. wish to “resolve” the issue; just with different results. The Friday Prayer Leader also railed on the French Foreign Ministers recent remarks last weekend, wh...
The Sermon
2007-09-18 00:35:00
A man once spent days looking for his new hat. Finally, he decided that he'd go to church on Sunday and sit at the back. During the service he would sneak out and grab a hat from the rack at the front door.On Sunday, he went to church and sat at the back. The sermon was about the 10 commandments. He sat through the whole sermon and instead of sneaking out he waited until the sermon was over and went to talk to the minister."Father, I came here today to steal a hat to replace the one I lost. But after hearing your sermon on the 10 Commandments, I changed my mind."The minister said, "Bless you my son. Was it when I started to preach 'Thou shall not steal,' that changed your heart?"The man responded, "No, it was the one on adultery. When you started to preach on that, I remembered where I left my hat."
