As the participants compared their experiences, evidence ? sometimes gut-sickening ? fast mounted. Other crimes and ethical betrayals came to our notice. To those coordinating activities, such as Glen Meloy, Hari Sampath, myself and, as time passed, Robert Priddy, the sheer volume and richness of evidence allowed many striking confirmations of the veracity of accounts. A traffic of boys on the lookout to do a good deed would turn the chair right side up. When they had departed I inverted it again. And again. There are, however, many documented cases of nuns committing child sex abuse. Among six new lawsuits in Portland, Oregon, two are directed against nuns, and the holy old bats are nor happy about this. Lawyer Kelly Clark explains: "I have more resistance these days from religious orders involving nuns, more denial, than I have from any archdiocese or any religious order involving priests."
