A poet from Nagpur - whose ghazals have been sung by leading singers from across the subcontinent - including names like Jagjit and Chitra Singh, Lata Mangeshkar, Chandan das, Hariharan, Ghulam Farid Sabri, Aziz Nazan, Salman Alvi, Rais Khan, Munni Begum, Udit Narayan and Pankaj Udaas to name a few. Sadly, though I have heard his famous ghazals - Uski gali me phir muhey ek baar le chalo and thukraao ab ki pyaar karo - I had no idea that the writer was from Nagpur.
