NFL Buzz: Jared Allen, Shaun Alexander, Jason Taylor, and Anquan Boldin
2008-04-24 04:10:00 Couple note worthy items (not worthy of individual posts): The Minnesota Vikings have officially acquired Kansas City Chiefs drunk DE Jared Allen. The Bounty: (1) 1st Round Pick, (2) Third Round Picks, and a swap of 6th round picks (which moves the Chiefs up 5 slots, they traded the pick they received from the Bucs for RB Michael Bennett, hmm). The Vikes locked up Allen with a 6 year 74 million dollar deal... I'm definitely not sad to see the Bucs lose out on Jared Allen (if you can call it that). This leaves the door wide open for a Julius Peppers signing next off-season and Allen is one drink away from a train wreck. Good luck in Minnesota No. 69, eh Don't look now, but the Miami Dolphins have put Pro Bowl DE Jason Taylor on the trading block. It's rumored the Dolphins are looking for a first round pick in exchange for Taylor and that JCat would not get traded until his potential suitor is on the clock.. The Lions, Bucs, Jags, and Eagles are rumored to be potential destin...

Sportaphile Was Right, Sportaphile Was Wrong
2008-01-22 05:53:00 I make a lot of bold predictions, statements, and accusations on this site. Some of them turn out to be 100% right (ya know, because I’m a genius), and some of them turn out to be complete BS. I thought it’d be fun to take a look back at my greatest triumphs, and blunders for ...

The Fast Fifteen: Things Shaun Alexander Does on His Day Off
2007-12-21 18:14:00 "We've got the 2005 MVP Shaun back"- Mike Holmgren.....clearly on drugs. Shaun Alexander is a running back with talent. That talent was destroyed after these recent injuries. But still, he may not even get 600 yards this season. Time to make some fun of good old #37. The following is not true,

The Decline of Shaun Alexander
2007-11-29 12:37:00 After I saw SS Reporters' Lockerroom article, "Go Figure", and he pointed out that the Seahawks have won 5 straight games in which Alexander sat out, I decided to look deeper into the decline of a back who was Pro Bowl material just a few short years ago. The high of Alexander's career was back in

Shaun Alexander Made a Boo Boo
2007-09-18 07:46:00 It’s a tough day to be a Seahawks fan. When your team gives a game away it’s always tough. On Sunday, while driving for the game winning field goal, the Seahawks instead fumbled the ball away into a game winner for the Cardinals. How could they let that happen? How can a team make such a critical mistake in the final two minutes of a game? If you listen to Shaun Alexander, it sounds like it was his fault. Without directly admitting it, Alexander basically says he wasn’t paying such good attention, forgot what was going on, and panicked. “We just blew it,” Alexander said. “I thought Matt was audibling and then I thought, ‘Ah no, this is the fake audible.’ And I took a step to run the play that was called and I saw the guy running in the backfield, so I thought, ‘Oh, maybe this is a pass play.’ So I go try and run around Matt and it was crazy. I wasn’t sure if he was giving it to me, if I was blocking or if he was ...

Naysayers Nation: Shaun Alexander
2007-08-19 05:27:00 In the last two installments of The Naysayers Nation, we took on the Detroit Lions offense and Travis Henry. Our contrarian viewpoint has been praised by readers and critics alike, and thousands across the nation are pledging their allegiance. This time, however, we'd like to switch it up a bit. Instead of naysaying a positive opinion, we'll take on a negative viewpoint that's being expressed in many fantasy circles. This week, we are here to shine our contrarian spotlight on Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander. Many are quick to write Shaun off, but we say he'll be a fantasy comeback player of the year candidate. Here are some of the arguments against drafting Alexander and why they're dead wrong...He's old...Um, he's not. He hasn't even turned thirty yet and although he will later this month, the myth that RBs are ineffective after 30 is just that...a myth. Look what Tiki Barber did last year at 31. Warrick Dunn racked up a ton of yards at ages 30 and 31. Curtis Martin thr...
