Aoi Shiro Manga, Volume 2
2009-09-04 02:01:00 In the Jive edition of Aoi Shiro, the focus is squarely on the game characters, as opposed to Ichinjisha's Yuri Hime edition of the story, in which the focus was on two almost irrelevant characters and was so tepidly Yuri that it failed to capture my interest. In Volume 2 of the Jive version of Aoi Shiro, Yuri takes a back seat to Action and Mystery and other capitalized selling points.Shouko, captain of the kendo club, is drawn into an ever-deepening mystery regarding Nami, the child she found on the beach. Her own childhood memories, Nami's unusual dress, and a giant Bull-Demon all collide in what probably makes a pretty good game and makes a reasonably good manga. This is all made even more interesting by a suit-wearing Onee-san type from Shouko's past and a guardian with one good eye-type from I have no idea whose past. 2008-05-28 23:32:00 Aoi Shiro is a manga story that was based off the game of the same name. It exists in two parts - the Yuri Hime magazine version, in which we meet Momoko and her roommate Yasumi, a frail girl who has a crush on the president of the kendo club. That manga ended just as the story began, when Momoko and Yasumi joined the kendo club. Although it ran in Yuri Hime the vaguest shading of Yuri was actually used, so that Momoko kind of sort of seemed to maybe like Yasumi and Yasumi akogared Shouko, the club president.The story picks up slightly later in the first volume of the Jive magazine edition, as the kendo club is off to some random beachfront temple for kendo camp. Club member Ayashiro finds herself haunted by a possible succubus-like shade, and mysterious, yet threatening, Mizuwa works around the temple and seems to know something no one else knows.One night Yasumi and Shouko are on the beach when they come across another mysterious being, a girl with white hair, unconscious in the s...
