2008-01-14 23:57:00 Muchos de ustedes habrán visto esta serie así como yo y, bueno debo decir que me gustó la serie (1era temporada, la segunda aun no la he visto). Y, como siempre, cada vez que veo una serie que me gusta no falta que mi cabeza se ponga a pensar en hacer tal o cual cosplay y Enma Ai (la protagonista) no fue la excepción. Aunque es sencillo a simple vista (un uniforme escolar o el kimono de flores de colores), ese traje tiene ciertos elementos que, si no están presentes no se vería muy bien. Ya para no hacer tan largo el cuento, aquí les traigo unas imágenes de Jigoku Shoujo (Jigoku Shōjo) que me gustaron mucho, tanto por la interpretación/parecido del personaje como por el efecto de las fotos. 2007-09-21 06:24:00 Big thanks to Steven for the heads up! By the looks of it, Media Blasters has acquired Mahou Shoujo Tai! This series is also called Tweeny Witches1, which will most likely be the official title as released in the U.S. To begin with, Studio 4C has been my most favorite Japanese animation studio since I had stumbled onto Noiseman Sound Insect and was, at once, baffled and amazed at what can be done with animation in 16 minutes. This short impressed me enough to seek out more material from this studio, and discovered just what was written on Wikipedia on them: They are known for marrying the spirit of independent festival animation with a more mainstream anime aesthetic. The entry itself is far too short to gain any substantial information about the company, but all I know is that I have yet to find any animated film, series, or OAV made by Studio 4C that I didn't like. Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo - Subtitle file adjusted for overscan on widescreen T
2007-05-06 22:18:00 Well, I had managed to show off Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo (using roxfan's subs) to a few people using my housemate's 46-inch Samsung DLP widescreen (I forget the exact model at the moment). Now, this wasn't as easily as simply following the directions on my MKV to AVI guide as the Samsung TV has between 5% to 10% overscan, and subtitles and the karaoke would lie halfway off of the screen, making it difficult to read the dialog. In the past, with hard-subs in AVI files and many fansub groups that do not position their subtitles to adjust for this (This is not meant to be a slight against any fansub group, as they doing the much harder job of translating and timing these subtitles in the first place at no cost to us), there would be nothing I could do other than slightly windowboxing the video as to make sure the subtitles appear properly on screen. Now, though, thanks to MKVs with their soft-subs, I can at least do something about it when converting it to an XviD AVI file ...
Spring 2007 Anime Season: Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS
2007-04-16 19:21:00 I was going to wait for a few more episodes before I wrote about Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, but heck, I've speculated on less than two episodes, so... (three, now, which made me rewrite a bit in the middle. lol)I was not the biggest fan of the original Nanoha series, but I didn't hate it, either. It was a perfectly fine, completely derivative magical girl series, without the captivating characters or seiyuu of Card Captor Sakura from whence it came. It also had the unfortunate addition of an extremely distasteful nude transformation scene, which appealed to a particular sector of the anime viewing audience which is not me.The second series, Nanoha As, had a much stronger story, great characters and even better character development...and that unecessary henshin. In fact, aside from that one thing, the series was pretty darn good. :-)And now Nanoha, Fate and Hayate are all adults (yay!) and in uniform (yahoo!) and all working as commanders in the Time-Space Administratio...

Yuri Manga: Shoujo Bigaku
2007-03-12 16:19:00 Sometimes, when I type "Yuri Anime" or "Yuri Manga" in the title of a review, I know I'm being disingenuous. It may be there there is a little Yuri in the series or, that there is none but Yuri fandumb insists on seeing some anyway, as we are wont to do. But in the case of Shoujo Bigaku by Chi-Ran, I have no guilt, as it is another 100% yuri collection of stories that ran in Yuri Shimai and Comic Yuri Hime. (See the appropriate categories on the sidebar for past reviews of same.)Unlike some of the earlier collections, Shoujo Bigaku (which would translate to something like Girls Aesthetic) is a series of mostly unconnected one-shot stories.
