2008-01-19 23:43:00 It's the day when all the Cebuanos gather around Sto. Niño Basilica. The uptown part of the city is jampacked with people, malls are full, and streets were full of people. The sinulog festival is the most awaited celebration every year. Sinulog is celebrated on the third sunday of January. It start with a nine day novena, followed by a procession on the day before the feast, and the feast day. On the day of the feast there will be street dancing, from the oldest type of sinulog dancing to the new ones. A lot of contingent join the contest, contingent compose of people from other part of the country. And there are some foreign countries who join the free interpretation contest. Each and everyone showcases their different type of dancing. On the feast day, lot of bands are playing from each block of the street. From uptown to downtown, people really have a lot of choices where to go.
