Southbank Food Festival: Slow Food London
2008-09-30 17:07:00 It seems that I have fortuitously stumbled upon a glut of food festivals here in London of late, and I'm not complaining. I'm welcoming any opportunity to eat well and see London at the same time, and it appears to me that the food culture here is as lively as I had imagined. And what shall I say about the weather? Even though today, London is at its typically rainy best, the past few days and weekends have been gloriously warm and sunny. I was quite the cynic and had scoffed incredulously at the prediction of sunshine and warm weather in the last few days, although have since been eating my words. An Indian summer seems like the perfect primer before the cold snap hits.Weather aside, the Southbank Food Festival was held a couple of weeks ago although it's taken me some time to actually get my act together to write up a post. What's new- procrastination, it's the underlying motif of the blog. So, the Southbank Food Festival was an understated 3-day celebration of the Slow Food L...

The Slow Food Movement - Fighting against a Fast-Food World!
2008-09-08 14:11:00 [ Comments: 5 ] - For those of you who've dined with the All That's Evil team, you know we like GOOD FOOD. Those of you who haven't dined with us, are going to have to take it on faith, for the moment. So lets talk about Good Food. Good Food isn't handed to you out a window. Good Food is not ever associated with a clown. Good Food isn't prepared to a timer, except on Iron Chef, and I'm not so sure that the concoctions of squid's liver, eye of newt, and gorgonzola cheese they come up with on Iron Chef are act...

Slow Food on Film

influx interview - aron hegyi- slow food nation
2007-06-14 04:23:00 For four days next May, the Slow Food movement will descend on San Francisco's Fort Mason Center, for Slow Food Nation (a festival about all things Slow Food). Influx caught up with one of the organizers, Aron Heygi, to learn more. 1. What is Slow Food Nation about?Slow Food Nation is a campaign to change the way America produces and eats food. It will demonstrate how everyday choices affect our well being, our culture, and the health of the planet. Slow Food Nation's goal combines pleasure with responsibility to inspire a new activism with food at its core.2. Why now and why San Francisco?America is ripe for an event like this - the last couple of years in particular have seen large growth in organic and local foods, and this event will galvanize the Slow Food movement to spread the message far and wide that food should be good, clean, and fair. Carlo Petrini, founder of the Slow Food movement, notes that globally we are at a crucial point in history. In his new book ...
