2009-06-17 20:29:00 Not to start a panic or anything among SMALLVILLE fans, but… um, yeah, enjoy the upcoming ninth season because chances are, it’ll be the last. Looking to place blame? Thinking maybe the rising production costs (including the ever-growing salary of star Tom Welling) or the shrinking audience (season two averaged 6.3 million viewers a week while the eighth season reached only 3.7 million) will prove to be the show’s kryptonite? Possibly… but it’s beginning to look like an assisted suicide with the network itself playing the role of Dr. Kevorkian. Why do we say this? 2008-09-25 18:16:00 With roles in DEXTER, the new STAR WARS video game and SMALLVILLE, actor Sam Witwer has seemingly corned the market on evil. Well, playing evil that is. Which is exactly what this TV Addict started off asking him about when I was given the opportunity to chat with the actor about his newest role as Davis Bloome/Doomsday on SMALLVILLE. Let me start off by asking. What’s with all the dark characters? Sam Witwer: SMALLVILLE approached me and said we need an actor to be extraordinarily dark, yet really sweet and vulnerable. On DEXTER I played the devil, in THE MIST I’m probably the nicest guy in the movie, so I’m not sure what they saw. But it’s exciting to be on SMALLVILLE, it’s been really fun and I’m happy about it. 2008-09-19 16:03:00 Following last night’s fantastic season premieres of both SMALLVILLE and SUPERNATURAL this TV Addict is left pondering two very simple questions. First off, should next season’s SMALLVILLE spin-off be called METROPOLIS or JUSTICE LEAGUE? And two, are we about to head towards a future where the web’s favorite brotherly duo are on opposite sides of the issue? Would SUPERNATURAL showrunner Eric Kripke seriously turn Dean against Sam as they face off in a Holy War to save humanity. Angels versus Demons, brother against brother, fandom v fandom? UGLY BETTY finally brought the funny back by reuniting Marc and Amanda (”Marc and Amanda! We’re so funny together; everyone says so.”), putting Christina/Willi’s baby on the back-burner and having Gio step up and tell Betty, “I don’t want to be the rebound guy.
