Maybe if I keep the posts shorter and I get a laptop I will be able to keep up consistent postings. A little over one year later and we have had around 55,000 hits. Not too bad. Something I would never imagined why I first started. Anyway, on to the song. This one is by a Scottish band you might of heard of: Snow Patrol. They hit it big in the US with their hit "Chasing Cars" reaching #5 on the US billboard chart. You could not listen to the radio at that time without hearing this power ballad. "Chasing Cars" came off their fourth album and it was a long time coming for them. "Shut Your Eyes" was one of the few songs that sounded almost completely effortless, which is why it was one of my favorite songs on the album. It's now the most recent single from "Eyes Open", and now it has one of my favorite videos in a long time. It's brilliantly directed and put together, and I dare you to look away after you click the play button.

Since then the Patrol have been busy on tour in North America, performing stunning shows including a set at Lollapalooza, as well as performing their debut show in Mexico. The Patrol will take to the V Festival main stage at around 7:40pm on Saturday in Chelmsford and Sunday at Weston Park in Staffordshire. SP.com will be there to report back from all the action, as well as shooting some photos from their penultimate festival of the Summer. If you are not one of those lucky people with tickets to the festival, you will be able to catch the bands set on Channel 4 on Saturday Night at ten past midnight, as well as hear coverage across the weekend on Virgin Radio. 2007-02-03 21:09:00 snow patrol - open your eyes[oh my god this is just plain brilliant!!! shot in 1976, the images for this video actually come from a short film called "C'était un Rendezvous" by the french filmmaker Claude Lelouch. the director has never allowed the footage to be used for any purposes (making it a cult film in the process) until now. add to the fact that it fits perfectly to snow patrol's single. amazing really!]claude lelouch - c'etait un rendez vous (1976)[because i'm such a film nerd, here is the full experience! shot during a 5:30am drive through paris, this is just crazy how fast the driver went that day (this was shot in a single take with NO editing whatsoever). which makes the ending completely dramatic and all the more beautiful.]http://feeds.feedbur-ner.com/WongiesMusicWorld |
