2007-09-25 04:38:00 ESPN.com reported via Sherdog that the Nevada State Athletic Commission fined Renato “Babalu” Sobral $25,000 for his actions taking place at UFC 74. During his fight with David Heath at UFC 74, Babalu put Heath in an Anaconda Choke and held the choke even after Heath and Referee Steve Mazzagatti tapped Babalu. Consistent with NSAC decision to fine Babalu, Sobral appeared to totally disregard for the rules of the Octagon and more specifically “referee involvement”.
