CRM 2.0 - Why Can't Social Networks Port into CRM Systems?
2008-06-06 01:59:00
Customer Relationship Management ("CRM"), one of the least attractive administrative tasks facing any business, needs an overhaul. Most systems have their users manually input and update contact data into data siloes that are currently  incompatible with social networking applications like LinkedIn and Facebook which can harbor that same base data and more. CRM systems have three tracking functions: Contact database - name, address, phone, email, etc. Contact history and details - dates of contact, discussion topics, contact interests and personalization, priority Tasks - next steps, deadlines, timeline, alerts, priority In addition, CRM systems provide management functions: Categorization of contacts, projects and tasks by folders, or better, tags.Data mining and metrics to monitor and elucidate user efficiency - contact growth rate, best use of time, close rate, benchmarking vis-a-vis other users Automated marketing - drip email campaigns, The real estate prof...

Making Money Off Social Networks
2008-05-28 22:04:00
I recently been getting a lot of e-mails from DonkeyMails and No-Minimum promoting this new website called ZenZuu.What is ZenZuu?ZenZuu is a social network website like myspace, friendster, facebook, etc. It lets you upload your photos, create blog post, upload your videos, send messages, leave comments. Basically anything a social network should have in general they have it.What is Different about ZenZuu?It may not be ass fancy as facebook or as popular as myspace, but they're paying members 80% of advertising revenue and keeping 20% for themselves to maintain the website and also paying the owners. Of course the owners of the website will be the biggest earner because they only have a few people splitting the 20% whereas 80% is split amongst 10,000 to 1,000,000 members. The only way for a member to make any money is to have a crap load of referrals. What do I think? This is similar to YUWIE, another social networking website that pays its members. I personally think ZenZuu loo...

Two new Large Social Networks : Google Yahoo

Is your Blog a Dead Beast? 16 Ways Bring it to life!
2008-04-23 10:20:00
I launched this blog a year ago this month, and when I first launched it my primary focus was to make money. I’ve learned a lot in that year, and made many mistakes. I actually gave up on this blog for about 7 months. I came back to it on March 15th of this year. In fact I had lost all the previous posts, I’d done and had to start anew. (Roughly 130+ posts gone). My original theme was using the law of attraction to bring $1 Million into my life by the age of 30, which I believe was perhaps a bit over zealous. My new goal - apply what I’ve learned in my year of blogging, and help other’s become successful. I’d also like to launch a few social related businesses eventually, that are currently in the ‘idea’ stages. My 50 States Roadtrip / American Blogger Directory is just part of gaining an keeping an audience. You’ll notice the most successful blogs out there aren’t just individual people talking while everyone listens. The most ...

I Know Twitter can Take you Places? But get you out of Jail?!
2008-04-16 19:08:00
This sounds like something out of a spy movie or something. According to ( Marketing Pilgrim via Mercury News) a 29-year-old UC Berkeley journalism student got out jail using Twitter. Apparently, while in Egypt, he was arrested for taking a picture. Upon being arrested he quickly notified his ‘Network’ with the word ‘Arrested’, those who new his business and where he was immediately notified the right people, and before morning was up he had UC Berkley hired lawyer, and the American Embassy knocking on the door of the Jail. From the Donkey’s Mouth: Buck, 29, a former Oakland Tribune multimedia intern, used the ubiquitous short messaging service to tap out a single word on his cellular phone: ARRESTED. The message went out to the cell phones and computers of a wide circle of friends in the United States and to the mostly leftist, anti-government bloggers in Egypt who are the subject of his graduate journalism project. The next day, he walked out a free m...

Publicize Via Social Networks
2008-04-14 17:42:00
I have become a big fan of LinkedIn and FaceBook and have been enjoying the benefits of social networking. Look me up on FaceBook or ask me for an invite. I have created several joint ventures, made some great contacts as well as joining some groups on FaceBook. It really is the way to go and it does not cost a penny to join. Today I am including tips on how to publize using social networks by Fern Reiss, CEO PublishingGame.com/Expertizing.-com Social networking has become the latest buzz phrase – but what is social networking exactly, and why would you want to get involved in it? The answer is that social networks—Facebook, LinkedIn, Ryze, Bebo, MySpace, etc—are fast becoming a phenomenon worth paying attention to, and are potentially poised to usurp many of the publicity and advertising dollars formerly vested in the more traditional media. In today’s world, you become known by the talks you give and the articles you write. In tomorrow’s world, you’ll be known by your ...
Save time managing your social networks - Social Network Aggregation
2008-04-14 15:16:00
With today's Web being more social and average Web users having more than one account in several of these sites, be it MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn, Digg or YouTube, it is becoming increasingly cumbersome to manage each account individually. A new wave of social aggregation services aims to make our online social lives a little easier by displaying information from each social networking site in a single location--where one can keep track of every inane action of their friends through feeds. Today there are dozens of social aggregation services including FriendFeed, Spokeo, Iminta, Dandelife, and SocialThing! among other start-ups. FriendFeed allows users to aggregate information and activity streams from various services on the Internet--Flickr photos, YouTube videos, blog posts, Delicious bookmarks, Last.fm, Twitter messages, etc. (a total of 33 services). Basically it keeps you updated on what your friends or family are sharing, uploading, lin...

Social Networks for Investing - Make money?
2008-04-09 22:02:00
I've recently been part of a discussion around the social networking space and investing. In fact we have a very early Facebook application on hot or not stocks application that has drawn a lot of interest. We are finishing our version 2 fantasy stock picking application which will be ready by the first week in May. The discussion has been around how social networks and investing can work together. As one reader has commented, "This is an interesting question - on a theoretical level, supporting open and transparent markets through a social netoworking flow of information would appear a laudable goal. However, aside the regulatory issues already raisedin other answers (and which are truly non-starters), there are a number of reasons why a single unified "ecosystem" of information is not likely to emerge anytime soon." I am not an attorney but the regulators should not be getting involved in any peer to peer communication or investment decisions. My right to information from my netw...

Windows Live teams up with social networks for contact portability
2008-03-25 16:49:00
Robert Scoble couldn't do it, but Windows Live can.Microsoft's Web-app division announced Tuesday that it has partnered with five social networks--LinkedIn, Tagged, Hi5, Bebo, and yes, Facebook--on a new project to facilitate address book portability. The partner social networks have agreed to use the Windows Live Contacts API so that members can import Windows Live contacts to their respective sites, as part of the new data-portability strategy that Microsoft outlined at its Mix conference earlier this month. In return, Microsoft has launched Invite2Messenger, a new service for users of those social networks so that they can invite the members of their friends lists to join Windows Live Messenger. This replaces "scraping," a widely used process of diving into one account on a social network or e-mail client's database to export contacts to another. It's technically unauthorized, and occasionally social networks make a stink about it--as Facebook did when blogger Scoble tested out...
Algorithm finds the network - for genes or the Internet
2008-03-24 01:37:00
Weixiong Zhang has created a mathematical recipe - also known as an algorithm - that automatically discovers communities and their subtle structures in various networks, from the Internet to genetic lattices.Human diseases and social networks seem to have little in common. However, at the crux of these two lies a network, communities within the network, and farther even, substructures of the communities. In a recent paper in Physical Review E 77:016104 (2008), Weixiong Zhang, Ph.D., Washington University associate professor of computer science and engineering and of genetics, along with his Ph.D. student, Jianhua Ruan, published an algorithm (a recipe of computer instructions) to automatically identify communities and their subtle structures in various networks. Many complex systems can be represented as networks, Zhang said, including the genetic networks he studies, social networks and the Internet itself. The community structure of networks features a natural division in which the...
