2008-07-08 05:04:00 Quiet moments. Solitude. A good cup of coffee. These things make me happy. These things are seldom found in my household. Except for the coffee. That's always here. My mother-in-law might tend to disagree with me on the coffee, she thinks I make it too strong. I prefer the term bold. Then again, she prefers Instant so I don't really count her as a credible critic.This morning I was enjoying a rare hat trick--quiet, solitude and coffee. My wife had to be at work early and woke me to braid her hair. That's right. I braid my wife's hair. 2008-04-06 09:54:00 It’s 12:30 in the morning. I’m sitting in the easy chair, watching HGTV. Everyone is asleep. Solitude. It’s rare in this house. I want to write. The process of getting words out in a space. The restful clicky-clack of the keys as I type. Emptying of my mind. The problem is… I’m in a really good place right now. We’re more comfortable financially than we’ve been in a long time. By no means perfect, but I no longer fear overdrafts, which is a huge relief. I can pay the bills, AND pay towards debt, AND save, and it’s a huge relief. In addition, we have a plan in place to bring me home. The kids are going through their various therapies and thriving. Of course I wasn't really alone for I always had the companionship of the angels and spirits of the unseen world. I spent a lot of time back then just listening to them...and I still do so today.My office/meditation area is located back away from the outside noise of the road. Through the window I can look out at pine trees and some native shrubbery. It's in this very quiet setting that I do my writing and have my many connections with the spirit world. 2008-02-08 00:09:00 people keep asking us what we miss about home. the answers pretty obvious, i'm not really sure why the question needs to be raised. i suppose they're waiting for an answer like mcdonalds or perhaps a television program, but once we tell them it's our friends and family we miss, the little light bulb goes off over their head and they realize the obviousness of the matter. the phones' a great invention, don't get me wrong, but it certainly doesn't do justice to talking to people in person.
