Sonic the Hedgehog Speeds Past 8 Million Mobile Downloads
2008-05-29 13:23:00 According to Game Daily, Sonic the Hedgehog mobile has had over eight million downloads to date. Sega Mobile today announced that the classic Sonic the Hedgehog has reached a mobile milestone, surpassing eight million downloads on mobile phones since it launched in North America and Europe in early 2006. Sega said that the game has seen the most success on Verizon Wireless' V CAST service where it's been a consistent top seller. "Sonic the Hedgehog is a title that resonates with a universal audience of gamers who have grown up with the franchise, as well as with a growing audience of casual players," said Linda Chaplin, vice president of Sega Mobile. "Sonic has appeared in more than 40 games on 19 video game platforms.
