Get the details here on what Somerhalder had to say ? a few words that pretty much sums it up for fans wondering about their love connection! With speculation swirling since a late May spotting of the couple in in Paris, Ian Somerhalder (one of my fav stars to follow on Twitter) and Nina Dobrev seem to be carrying on a quiet love affair!Completely opposite of their on-screen dislike for one another in Vampire Diaries as Elena Gilbert and Damon, the two Hollywood actors, whose star meters rose after landing a spot in the CW series two years ago, appear to be ready to go public with their romance! Stepping out together, hand in hand, the couple made their way to the music event and stopped to allow for pictures and questions. Somerhalder let it be known that Nina Dobrev was the one he was looking forward to seeing most when asked who is he wa...
Google Improves Image Search By Allowing Users To Sort By Subject
2011-05-10 08:45:00
Google wants to make your image search simpler. The search giant will now allow users to sort image search results by subjects. So, how does this exactly work? Google’s Donald Tanguay explains in a blogpost, “When you search for [London], by default you will see image results ranked by relevance. Click on “Sort by subject” in the left-hand panel and you will see images organized into categories that will narrow down your search and help you find the exact image of London that you want.” Until now Google allowed users to sort images based on colour, size and type. Although these helped to find images which would fit the visual need of a users but, would not help him find the image that he is looking for. Bing had implemented the same back in 2009. With this move Google has not just caught up with Bing but, has overtaken. Bing does not provide this service to all users but, only in certain locations. Google, on the other hand, will provide the service worldwide....

Dunk Porn: Eric Gordon Made It Count... Sort Of

The Clips blew a 16-point halftime lead, not able to break 20 points in the third or fourth quarters, Saturday night, to find themselves down 91-89 to the Jazz with seconds left on the clock in regulation. Eric Gordon forced the game into overtime with using a great pick by Chris Kaman and breaking Al Jefferson's help attempt, elevating to slam two home.
Time To Sort The Vacation
2010-10-23 20:21:00
When it comes to going on vacation there are so many things out there that you must always remember and these do not just include some of the things you are packing in the suitcase but also things you need to be thinking about when it comes to looking after some of the things in the home. For example, what is going to happen to that marine fish tank when you are away on your travels? So without further ado, here are some of the things you really do need to be thinking of when it comes to going away on vacation. The Clothes Make sure you are packing clothes for each and every day of your trip because if you are like me there is no way you are going to want to do the washing and ironing when you are on vacation. make sure that if you are packing your clothes you pack something for the cold weather just in case, even in the warmest of climates you will find that the weather can turn bad and if it does you will look a bit silly in your shorts and t-shirts. The Essentials You need to m...
The Bears Have a New Coach (Sort of)
2010-09-30 06:30:00
Is this the same guy who has been coaching the Bears the last six years? (Photo courtesy of Sun Times)The name on the door hasn't changed, but make no mistake about it, there is a new coach leading the 3-0 Chicago Bears.   There is something going on at Halas Hall that we haven't seen in years.  It's called ACCOUNTABILITY.  Even though he will never admit it, Lovie Smith has thrown away his old coaching playbook and is playing by a new set of rules.  Stubbornness?  Arrogance (or Bearogance as some people call it)?  Gone.  Outta here. Replaced by Adjustments. Adaptability.  How else can you explain the benching of Tommie Harris?  And how about Zack Bowman riding the pine after some...

Eddie George. Bernie Kosar. Archie Griffin. A lot of history will be swirling around Ohio Stadium this Saturday when the University of Miami Hurricanes (the U) and The Ohio State Buckeyes take the field. If it's anything like the last time these two storied college football programs crashed into each other, the 2003 Tostito's Fiesta Bowl BCS National Championship Game, there will be multitudes of fans on the edge of barstools and sofas wringing their hands, pulling their hair, and shouting at televisions. I’m the Sort of Thing They Ban
2010-03-04 21:31:00
So I’m in the car, as I often am, and I’m listening to the radio, as I often do.  I’m a participatory listener in so much that if there’s music playing, chances are I’m tapping my foot or pounding out the rhythm on the steering wheel.  I’m usually singing along.  And on a really good day, there’s head bobbing. Today was a good day. The sun was shining this morning and my resolve to will spring’s arrival seemed to be working.  I’ve done things to make sure that spring will be here in very short order. Tangible things. Noticeable things. I shaved the beard.  Actually, I had it shaved.  Remember the Karmic List of Good Things for Ed to Do (or something like that)?  It’s not a bucket list.  Bucket lists have certain connotations of finality.  I’m not there yet.  Karmic goodness is enduring. So I decided a few months ago that one of the things I should include on my Karmic List of Goodness should be a straight e...

Derrick Rose update [sort of]
2009-10-11 21:08:00
Well I just returned from Bulls practice which was somewhat of a bust, because of a miscommunication there was no media session scheduled today as practice became a film session.   However, I did see James Johnson and Derrick Rose walk out of the building and both were walking normally without a limp (Johnson appeared to injury his ankle at the end of last night's game and Rose obviously has the Achilles thing).I didn't notice Derrick wearing a walking boot, but I admit I didn't take a close look.  I figured it would have been obvious enough that I would have noticed it without trying to look, but I failed you in that area this time. ...

Goodbye my friend, a happy end.
Essentially, getting older is sort of a bitch.
2009-09-12 16:53:00
Two months from my fortieth birthday, I’ve never looked or felt better. Considering my high school and college years, this is pretty remarkable. I used to scare people with oversized t-shirts, an abrasive attitude, and hair that could withstand fifty-knot winds. But now, after discovering exercise, obtaining a decent wardrobe allowance and growing my hair *down* instead of *out*, I’ve finally become a bit of a babe. So naturally something’s wrong. One could make an argument that Katie’s Super-Healthy status took a dive four years ago when my platelets hauled ass. More recently, I faced my first abnormal pap smear. Last Monday, I dealt with the indignity of a colposcopy without cocktails. Then, after several days of worrying and revising my eulogy, I got a call from my gynecologist’s medical assistant. She said no signs of cancerous cells can be seen up in my lovely. “The results are essentially negative.” Blink. Blink. Blink. “Essentia...

Hurricane Felicia's coming... sort of...
2009-08-08 00:02:00
We've got our first hurricane "threat" of the season going on right now. Hurricane Felicia made it to a category 4 hurricane a day or two back, was down to a category 2 by last night or this morning and will likely be a good sized rain cloud by the time it reaches Hawaii. I think they're predicting it to be a tropical depression. Sounds like larger surf on the east side of the island is likely on Sunday. We'll see if anything comes of it on our side of the island when it passes. In years past that I've lived here, "hurricane days" have been gorgeous and good days for diving.I've got a couple days off after tonight's dive, and I don't expect a whole lot of phone calls 'til this thing passes. I may go shorediving Monday morning to take some pictures if the water's flat. I'm running low on unposted photos, haven't carried the camera on dives in some time, so a day on my own might be fun. Here's something you don't see a whole lot of in Hawaii... the photo above is of ...

2009-04-29 06:37:00
Rick Springfield will be talking to strangers when he plays an ’80s teen idol on 4 episodes of Showtime’s Californication! According to EW’s Michael Ausiello he will be playing “an actor who experienced huge fame in the 80’s to play themselves as a now down-on his-luck-ex-celebrity waiting tables to get by.” Not much more is known, but with some of the sh!t that they have done on the show, the one thing we can guarantee is it will be a side of Rick Springfield we have never seen. And I can’t wait to see it!!! Maybe we will see his butt again like we did in Hard to Hold, but then again it would be hard for him to hold the bum that he had almost 25 years ago today! But I would Love Somebody at Californication if we did see again!!! SIDE NOTE: Stand Up is one of my favorite songs of his and I can’t believe I found a live version of it from 1985. Plus it totally works for this post!

Bill Maxwell: Eric Holder is Right (sort Of)
2009-03-02 13:47:00
Bill Maxwell, St. Petersburg Times, says “On race, blacks are cowards too:” On matters of race, most blacks run away from introspection, and we do not like to hear others publicly remind us of our responsibilities to ourselves. One problem we should openly talk about, but run from, is the high number of black children born out of wedlock. Depending on whose numbers we use, between 70 percent to 80 percent of black children are born to single mothers. Well Bill Cosby is not a coward, and he has the arrrow wounds to prove it. Oooh Yay, It's Sort Of A Holiday
2008-11-23 17:44:00
While the title says it's a holiday, please remember this was written last January. While I'm sure somewhere in the world today is a holiday, it is not the meaningless holiday I am honoring below. Putting this up today was easier than writing something new, with all the decorating and Christmas CD making an eggnog consumptioning going on around my homestead this weekend.Enjoy and happy Sunday, unless you are reading this later in the week because then wishing you a happy Sunday on a day when you are most likely working away in the office would just be cruel. Although, if you are reading this at work then I guess you really aren't working and then it serves you right. Yeah, I'm kidding. We all know work is the best place to get your blogging done. I mean not for me personally, for everybody else...It?s that time for another useless holiday. You know, one of these days I am just going to sit down, invent my own holiday and use this blog to tirelessly promote it. In fact, maybe one...
None of my pants demonstrate any sort of tactical ability. Except the tact

With Halloween over and the world outside of AfterDark going back to not dealing with vampires and cannibals and stuff, you might find yourself thinking "What can I get for a Christmas present for that law enforcement person on my list?"Here's what you should do: pick them a tactical pant for a present -- you can get tactical pants at Operator Tactical Pants, but move fast because they're selling at a rate of 200 pairs a day, and they won't last long. And when you get the tactical pants from Operator Tactical Apparel, you get your money's worth -- they've got 20 years experience in the military and law enforcement, so they know what that soldier, officer, security personnel, or other law enforcement operative wants and needs to wear.
President-Elect Obama Quotes CLB In Acceptance Speech. Well Sort Of.
2008-11-05 07:10:00
"To those who would tear the world down --- we'll defeat you. To those who seek peace and security -- we support you." President-Elect Barack Obama, During his acceptance speech I like this division of countries and it corresponds with the argument I have often made as to why the United States should seek to work with China, not against it. Most countries in the world (please don't anyone ask me to distinguish between the citizenry and the government here) want progress. They want tomorrow to be better than today. They want a strong economy and a productive work force. They want cars, televisions, and iPods. China is one of those countries. I am not calling on the United States to ignore China as a security threat, but I am saying we should support those countries that manifest a greater desire to build than to "tear the world down." And through our doing so, we will help defeat countries like Iran and North Korea, which are, at least for now, more committed...
