Southern California CRS Chapter at the SDAR REALTOR Trade Show in San Diego
2008-05-13 02:26:00
The annual San Diego Association of REALTORS Trade Expo was held this past Friday May 9 at the San Diego Convention Center (Day 2 of this event was held on Saturday with the focus on consumers) and the Southern California CRS Chapter was there! The event was free to all agents (minus the lunch, if you attended, and of course the $8 parking fee) and a great gathering place of vendors. With the market being what it is, seems the focus on advertising and marketing services, strategies and products just keeps growing. I didn't spend a lot of time there today because of my schedule, and a big part of being there was to help staff our Southern California Chapter of CRS (Council of Residential Specialists) booth. Many thanks to Barbara DuDeck, Area Vice President for San Diego, who coordinated the booth staffing. Barbara and I had a fun time Thursday afternoon setting the booth up, despite some challenges in figuring out how it all went together. Th...

Southern California Indian Resorts and Casinos
2008-04-27 06:37:00
Southern California Indian tribes have been busy building resort style casinos on their reservations. Many travelers head to the San Diego back county or the desert region of Palm Springs, rather than making a long drive to Nevada. These new resorts are not just for gaming. Live entertainment, day spas and first class dining are just a few of the things you can enjoy while staying or visiting one of these casinos. Located on reservation land the resorts tend to be in the more scenic areas of Southern California. If you are out exploring the back roads of Southern California, you might be surprised when you come across a Las Vegas style resort out in the middle of nowhere. Who Says It Never Rains in Southern California
2008-02-23 06:26:00
Man, it's been raining a lot here. This is the second time I've lived in San Diego and I do not remembering it ever being this consistently rainy before. Global Warming? A fluke year? I don't know, but isn't SoCal known for not raining, there's even a song about it "seems it never rains in Southern California". To be fair, the second half of the chorus is "But girl don't they warn ya, It pours, man it pours"I think it's all the rain that has me in my hermit-loves-to-read-books mode. Seriously, getting out of the house seems like such an incredible feat. Today, for instance, I cancelled my dentist appointment. No shocker there really. I'm notorious for canceling and rescheduling doctor's appointments at least a half a dozen times. Small anxiety issue of mine, which, oddly enough, I never even considered an "issue" of anxiety until I just typed it out. Anyway, I've read a handful of books lately and the one I just finished, The Center Cannot Hold: My Journey thro...
