2008-04-06 22:30:00
Well I stayed up until 4am to watch the United States take on Argentina in the Adelaide Sevens Bowl Final and despite the fact that I’m barely functioning 12 hours later, it was well worth it. The Pumas beat the Eagles 26-21. Argentina was up 19-7 at the half, but the American stormed back and took ...

Named and Shamed
2007-11-02 09:21:00
Trying to find out who the members of South African rugby’s presidents council are is next to impossible. It’s ridiculous to think that these people have been driving SA rugby into the ground for so long but that no-one seems to know who they are. We’ve done our best to come up with information on this inept organisation and the results ...
Jake White Resigns
2007-10-31 14:37:00
Springbok World Cup winning, IRB coach of the year Jake White handed in his resignation today. It seems that the only thing more difficult than winning a World Cup is working with the incompetent, back-stabbing, spineless gravy-trainers who call themselves SARU (and especially the ridiculous clowns on the president’s council). Congratulations Jake, and good luck for the future! ...

Springboks take home 2007 Rugby World Cup
2007-10-24 19:58:00
For the past seven weeks, the best rugby teams from around the globe met in France and competed for the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Fans from all over came together to cheer on their favorite teams, and everyone in attendance took part in one of the greatest atmospheres a sports fan could ask for. As the tournament toiled on, the traditional powers flexed their muscles and dominated in Pool Play. England, France, and South Africa all found their way to the semi-finals. However, it was newcomer Argentina that took the competition by surprise, with their trip to the semi-finals and a third place finish. The Rugby World Cup came to a conclusion this past weekend, and the South Africa Springboks were victorious, holding the trophy over their head for the second time in team history. Check out this playlist, with highlights from both on and off the pitch of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. -Dumont

RWC: Springboks Roll; England Awaits
2007-10-15 15:44:00
Bryan Habana scored 2 tries to lead the Springboks past Argentina 37-13. Habana has joined some exclusive company with the feat as he is now tied with All Black legend Jonah Lomu for scoring the most tries in a RWC tournament with 8. Look for Mr.Habana to break that record next weekend.Argentina played well I thought in the first half but looked pretty sloppy in the second. Credit South Africa for stepping up against much pressure to secure the relatively easy victory.Argentina will take on France in the 3rd/4th place match and South Africa will face off with England for all the marbles. Can England hang on to the Cup? Can South Africa repeat their 1995 performance? I will have a preview up later in the week.

RWC: Pumas & Springboks To Clash Next Weekend
2007-10-08 02:27:00
Yesterday was a day of upsets as Australia & New Zealand tasted defeat. Today the favorites won but it wasn't easy. South Africa defeated a spirited Fiji side 37-20 while the Pumas got past Scotland 19-13.I followed the matches online via the commentary chat at Planet-Rugby.com, so it was tough to get a real feel for the action. I'll watch the matches on tape delay tomorrow. I was able to catch yesterday's quarter-final games earlier today and both of those matches were fantastic!!! The spirit shown by France and England is what makes rugby such a special sport. I think the France vs England semi-final will be off the charts and I may have to pay the cash to watch it live rather than on Pay Per View.So next weekend we have England vs France and Argentina vs South Africa. I'll post my thoughts later in the week.
