Motorola ZN5 spy shots ?leaked?
2008-05-02 21:48:00
Motorola ZN5    Motorola ZN5 spy shots are surprising because it looks as though it belongs to the 1990`s design line although Motorola invested a lot of hope and should cash in on the ’sleek’ angles. The photos apparently suggest that the 5 megapixel camera is in fact a Kodak-built unit.

HTC Spy shots reveal a crap load of new phones
2008-04-21 05:41:00
Some spy from the abyss has turned up a spyshot that makes for some interesting viewage. The shot is of a 8 new and upcoming HTC phone models, we currently have no idea has these phones slipped out long enough especially in a nice rectangle perfect for photographing but you can't look a gift horse in the mouth. It's kind of funny that a company that makes phones with cameras seems to be a victim of its own products. As the low quality of the spy shots pretty much guarantee's its a camera phone shot, unless the guy had a spy camera inside his pair of Naot shoes or something, but that seems a bit overkill and since he's at HTC theirs an over abundance of camera phones lieing around :). The spy shot shows some phones that we already know such as the TyTn II, Touch Cruise and the Touch that we see along the top. But as you move down they're a bit more scarce on the information currently available. Except for the second from the left that is the P3470. With HTC holding the bi...
Clarification of the Chevy Volt mule spy shots
2008-04-17 20:43:00
Apparently the the spy-shots of a Chevy Volt mule that turned up on-line late last night were not necessarily what they appeared to be. According to GM the photo's in question actually showed a ride and drive mule that is just testing suspension hardware. The gray car we saw earlier doesn't have any of the E-flex powertrain hardware installed. The giveaway would be the absence of a mis-shapen hood on that particular car. The red Malibu you see pictured here is actually one of the powertrain mules that has been circulating the roadways of the Milford proving ground for the last five months. Under that big lump on the drivers side of the hood lies the power electronics module. This vehicle actually has the electric drive motor, the engine/generator combination, power electronic module and a small nickel metal hydride battery pack. The pack is basically being used as a buffer between the engine/generator and motor so that those components can be tested. Powertrain and software engine...
Spy Shots: First Chevy Volt mules caught testing
2008-04-17 07:16:00
Click above for high-res gallery of Chevy Volt mule spy shotsGM has been rather open when it comes to discussing the ongoing development of the Chevy Volt. Check here for our latest round of updates and you'll see that the Volt is moving along quite nicely. Still, there's a long way to go before the vehicle is ready for the road. The test track though, as you can see in the photo above, is another story entirely. According to Brenda Priddy's spy photographers, the Volt's E-Flex underpinnings are currently being tested cloaked under last-generation Malibu bodywork. We knew they'd be coming and are glad to see some visual proof. The production Volt will be based on GM's Delta platform, not the Malibu's architecture. The mules you see in these shots should contain an electric motor, an engine/generator set and some of the first battery packs from CPI and Continental. We're anxiously awaiting our chance to get a ride in one of these Malibu-bodied E-Flex mules.Gallery: Spy Shots:...

Spy Shots: 2009 Mazda6 caught naked with new curves
2008-04-09 08:26:00
Filed under: Spy Photos, Sedans/Saloons, Mazda Click above to view high-res spy shots of the 2009 Mazda6 Last September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, we made the claim that the new Euro-spec Mazda6 was bringing sexy back to the midsize sedan market. The version slated for sale in the United States will do the same, but not because it’s identical to the one designed for Europe. It’s not. These spy shots from Brenda Priddy & Co. show a completely naked prototype that was caught in Detroit. Though at first glance it looks exactly like the 6 that debuted in Frankfurt last year, closer inspection reveals many changes to the car, which corroborates reports we’ve heard that the U.S. version is also markedly different underneath its skin. Follow the jump for a review of the changes in store for U.S. customers. Spy Shots: Ford Ka starting to peel off the camo!
2008-01-27 11:28:00
Right now the smallest car that Ford plans to sell in the U.S. market is the upcoming Verve. The Verve will also be the replacement for the Fiesta in Europe when it launches this spring. In the European market, Ford offers an even smaller model called the Ka. The current Ka is built on a shortened version of the current-generation Fiesta but the next model shares architecture with the new Fiat 500. We've seen spy shots of new Ka previously with very heavy camo including headlights tacked on outside the normal body work (a common practice on early-build prototypes). The latest batch of shots begins to show some of the body work exposed; the Kinetic design is starting to become apparent in the contouring of the body sides and the front end. With any luck if the Verve is a success Ford will see fit to offer the Ka to American drivers as an alternative to the Smart and other small cars. [Source: WorldCarFans]
Spy Shots: Production BMW 135tii
2008-01-27 08:38:00
Few models in the BMW lineup have as much tuning potential as the newly released 135i, and the Bavarian boys and girls are intent to capture as much of that market as possible. The BMW 1-series tii concept proved that BMW was serious about offering performance parts to boost (and possibly lighten) its new turbo’d coupe, and a member of 1addicts posted photos of what could be the first 135 to get the in-house tuner treatment. Most of the parts shown are carryovers from the tii concept, including the revised front fascia, side skirts, carbon fiber diffuser and matching rear wing. The C.F. hood may have been swapped out for a stock aluminum piece, but we’re guessing the weave has been covered in matching white paint. The upgraded brakes are one of the most obvious additions, while inside, there’s plenty of Alcantara covered kit, from the shift boot to the seats, which are also dead ringers for the thrones shown on the concept. The steering wheel is new however, sporti...
Spy shots: Audi TT-RS nears launch
2008-01-20 08:08:00
Spy shots: Audi TT-RS nears launch The Audi TT-S made its official debut at the Detroit auto show earlier this month, but an even more powerful model is undergoing the final stages of testing — the TT-RS. Spotted during cold weather testing in Sweden, these latest photos show a production-ready RS parked for a break. Output for the TT RS is expected between 340 and 365 horsepower from a 3.2-liter turbocharged V6. The car pictured has a manual transmission, but a seven-speed DSG will also be available. Although the exterior of the RS appears similar to the S model, there are a few subtle changes. The TT RS forgoes the S' fog lights in order to accommodate larger air intakes, allowing for better airflow to the engine. In addition, the RS also sports bigger wheels and brakes. Out back are a set of oval exhaust outlets, a signature design cue for Audi's performance range of vehicles. Sales of the Audi TT RS are expected to begin sometime in 2009. January...

Spy Shots: International LoneStar Class 8 tractor
2008-01-13 06:14:00
Big rigs are awesome. We freely admit that this isn't our area of expertise, but when something particularly cool and truck-related comes along, we're more than happy to share. Thanks to an Autoblog reader named Johnny, who sent in the photos you see here, something cool indeed came along. We don't know if the pair of rigs you see are concepts or a new production model that's set to debut sometime soon. The Mid-America Trucking Show -- the biggest show in the industry -- is coming up in March, so these might be headed there. Our submitter at first thought that they might just be show vehicles, but some details lead him to believe that this could be a new production model sporting a nifty new hood design. The thing that has our tipster thinking "production" is that different sleeper configs are shown. The silver rig's is taller and incorporates a large fairing, while the black one's is less pronounced. Aside from the swoopy front end, the layout seems conventional, with exposed ...
